Mr Hissy's House gets Carpeted

Mt Hissy's House carpeted

A little update on Mr Hissy’s house. I picked up some carpet remnant, trimmed it down to size and it fits a treat. Now I just need to work how to get the sofa and bookcase in there! Since Mr H isn’t a fan of cat flaps, I have used string to hold it open. With a bit of luck his curiosity should lead him inside. If not, then treats are on standby! Actually that remnant proved quite a bargain. For £10 I got a fitted carpet for Mr H, an eight foot rug for the front room and finally a smaller rug for the bedroom. My carpet trimming skills are not that great, but a bargain trumps the aesthetic of a perfectly straight edge!

@Ronrybs I wish our cat liked to come inside and sit in my lap, but she won't even let us pet her outside. The times I have let her come in, she just runs to our grandson's bedroom and hides under the bed. And I'm afraid she'll pee under there! We've had her since she was a kitten, so we know she's never been mistreated.

@1creekgirl Cats are funny beasties. Gaia used to like sitting in my lap and getting some attention, but nowdays she likes to curl up next to me.

I've tried to get him to come indoors, but he won't have it. He likes his freedom!

The carpet I understand... Why does Mr. Hissy need a couch and bookcase?

@Ronrybs I see... Are you also going to stock some kitty books for him to read?

I also had to buil a special house for my dog. The ones they sold were expensive and very ugly. Luna has her own palace now.

@Ronrybs I just gathered some old rests of wood and other things and gave them to my best friend´s son. He was working to go to Australia and accepted any job. He was intelligent and handy so he made a lot of things with little materials.

I am hopeless with DIY, so I bought this house and it still took me a couple of hours to put it together

My cat went inside after I changed the blanket that I had put inside. There was a white one before, I placed one gray and added a curtain on the door, that only close the door partially. I suppose cats do not like the feeling of a door closing behind them.

There was a dark colour, but it was £20, so price dictated which one I ended up with!
