The electricity charge will be higher

The electricity charge will have a change (actually it is higher) since October in my city. The new rules are much more complicated beccause in the past the charge would be the same all the time. But there are still some levels and you have to pay more if you use more electricity. Then a few days ago I saw someone sumed up the new rule as follows: time cost 8am-12am RMB1.08/kWh 12am-17pm RMB0.64/kWh 17pm-21pm RMB1.08/kWh 21pm-0am RMB0.64/kWh 0am-8am RMB0.31/kWh According to it, I think I shall turn on my dish washer and washing machine after mid-night

Never heard of these type of time bound power charges. May be they want to distribute the load so as to avoid the power failures. But the good thing is you can wake up early and save some electricity bill.

How America does it too, just not many think of it that way. They charge the most when everyone is running at the same time and its out of control here too their jacking up prices. We get climate crisis but at same time they destroying people with their high prices.

Back in time we paid less during the night, no more now. I think they wanted to discourage people to annoy their neighbors during the night. (Anyway in an apartment building is forbidden).

I don't know. Actually the electrical appliances like washing machine really don't have much noise. I don't even hear that TV sound from my neighbors. As long as people don't have the decoration at home, it won't be a noise.

@LadyDuck Here many people live in the apartment building but I just don't like the noise of the home decoration since it is the main noise.

@youless I live in an individual home so it's not a problem. When I lived in an apartment in Monte Carlo I could hear the washing machine of the upstairs neighbor when she was so rude to use it during the night.

I pay for the electricity for those in my house. It’s much easier that way because if my neighbors is using more then me an sis paying less then me that’s not far. If we are paying the same for the less or more then I’m cool with that other wise I want to pay for when is used here’s as for dishes I run that once a day. I got to pay for water too.

@youless winter time it’s always higher at least it is for me.this is also why a lot of paces are offers solo so it can save on how much energy you are using.

Yes, we just got a letter telling us the rates are going up on our electricity bill again. The electric companies do that every time winter rolls around and then lower the bill a little bit when summer comes, but never by as much as they raised it at the beginning of winter.

Again? It is a real bad news. Especially in some cold places, the electricity really matters. If the electricity raises in a short time, it will affect many families because heating is quite important for them in cold winter.

@youless Yes, that's very true... Some families have already moved in together because Covid cost them jobs... I'm not sure what will happen if the electricity gets too high here.

I think the refridgerator won't use a lot of electricity. Do you know today a 650L refridgerator won't use over 1kWh in a day? That is so amazing. But I think the electrical appliance like air-conditioner can cost more electricity.
