Filling Christmas Stockings

Happy Monday Everyone! it's a cloudy day here and cold. I didn't have much time to spend here over the weekend and today is another busy day. I'm waiting for the dog groomer to arrive so it's puppy spa day. That usually takes a few hours but the pups always look and smell better. They do need the works today and it seems as if their fur grew quicker in the past few weeks. While I'm sitting here at the computer I have bills to pay and I also am looking for some Christmas gift ideas online. The groomer is one of the people I'm stumped for this year. Usually we come up with a nice gift idea but this year I have nothing. I'm also looking for some Christmas stocking ideas for my daughter. I love doing her stocking and it was the most fun every Christmas morning when my children would open their stockings and see all the goodies. Such good memories of those long ago Christmas mornings. Of course now that my daughter is an adult the goodies in her stocking have changed considerably. You might think we're crazy but we also have stockings for the pups. They get treats and toys and my daughter and I each do a pup. So, it's a surprise when we open the stockings and see what's inside. Do you do Christmas stockings? children, pets, adults?

I think that when the cold days come the pets fur grows faster, I noticed kitty this morning and he has a thick fur. We do not do Christmas presents anymore, but the cat will have something special.

@Marilynda1225 This is my opinion, my cat wants to stay outside most of the time, he needs a thick fur.

I do think that animals do grow their fur faster in the colder months. Guess they need their winter coats same as we do

Yes, I do or try to anyway. That remimds me, I am going to Tractor Supply today, I might look and see what stocking gifts they might have for the pets. However, I have the feeling I might find theirs at the Dollar Tree.. I already have the cat's main gift, and Jax is going to get a bed for his home. He loves the pet beds that are here, and makes himself quite comfortable in them. Have fun stocking filling.

Pet beds are something neither of our dogs like. We've tried it a couple of times and neither had any interest. I'm sure Jax will love having one for his house. I figured Nico would get lots of presents

I love doing stockings, its so personal and fun. What about a book for her? I have The Person in the Lifeboat by Mitch Album on my list, that would fit into a stocking. I bought 2 really small stockings yesterday and every week when I get my groceries I always ask for cash out of my bank account when I pay from my card, so I will take those 20's and put them into the stockings for the babies.

@Marilynda1225 I love stockings, so they will get tiny ones and then graduate to regular ones next year. This is such an exciting time, I love it so much. I'll be over the moon once I can actually see the babies and hold them for myself.

I did them for my kids when they were young and then my grandchildren too when they were young. Stockings are fun and sometimes it's more fun to see what's inside than getting a bigger wrapped gift.

I don't and I neither did mom. I used to wonder why some of the kids at school had those. Is it a religious thing?

Stockings don't have any religious significance. Pretty much a tradition coming from the Christmas tale of Santa and the stockings hung by the fireplace.

I enjoy doing Christmas stockings. I don't always do them, only when I'm able. It's so much fun to see them get just what they want. My grandson asked for a Porshe one year. I got him one. Matchbox, of course.

A Matchbox Porshe certainly was a good idea!! Now I only do a stocking for my daughter since she moved back home and I fill it with some goodies and maybe a few little gag gifts. Last year she did one for me and I did one for her and it was so much fun.

My mother used to do it. I do hang up stockings, but never fill them. I do give Lily, my cat, presents like some special food, treats, or a toy for Christmas. I may be getting her a carrier this year. I already got her food and treats. Lily had to have three teeth pulled last week.

Aww poor Lily having to have teeth pulled. I've had teeth pulled and it was painful. I can't imagine that she would understand what's going on. I hope she feels better quickly

@Marilynda1225 my wife, has a wicked sense of humor. She always puts office supplies in the stockings. every year, and it is never stuff you would normally need in an office! (odd shaped post it notes, pencils without sharpeners and so on)!

I hope you find something special for the groomer. I know your dogs will feel better after todays visit. Mike and I don't get one another gifts now because when we want/need things through the year we buy them for one another. We will get Ginger something, she's been a good girl this year.
