I watched the movie about Ray Charles tonight. I didn’t know he had such a hard life but he didn’t let blindness slow him down. He was born to a poor family in Georgia and made his way to the top with hard work and determination. I loved his singing and piano playing. He wrote and sang Georgia on my Mind which is now Georgia’s theme song. Ray Charles earned millions of dollars during his life and donated much of it to charity. He is truly Georgia’s native son.

I love to hear of stars giving to charity. Good for him. Some can overcome a bad start but for others, it taints them for life.

I saw that movie Ray, and I noticed it was on TV again recently. Jamie Fox did such an amazing job in that movie. He said he honestly felt that he had channeled Ray Charles, and he may have!
