Our caravan insurance has gone down.

We own a caravan and recently received a bill for insurance. As the letter had been redirected from our previous home, Vince rang them to change the address. The girl was very helpful and he was able to pay the bill at the same time.
However, the premium had gone up quite a bit and the reason was the change of postcode. Vince told the girl that the caravan wasn’t actually kept at the village but at another address. He gave her the postcode for that place and the price went down, even lower than the original amount. So we were pretty happy at the end of that call.
For my American friends, postcode = zipcode

It's always nice when insurance prices go down, whatever the reason.

@JudyEv True, I'd think that's odd but would be happy with the result.

. Anyway, it is wonderful your insurance went down when so many other things are going up!

You know, I have often wondered if insurance companies pulled that same trick in other countries. Back in 2013, when I was still driving, I wanted to change my address with the car insurance company to my dad's address. He lived in the West Passyunk neighborhood of South Philadelphia. And South Philly had a bad reputation long before the 2020 riots began - which I knew. But I did not expect the monthly premium for my little Dodge Neon to be nearly $500.00 (more than twice what I was already paying). So, I talked to my friend, whom I was temporarily living with, out in the suburbs, and she agreed to let me change my address to hers.

@JudyEv No, they don't have a lot of ethics at all.

that is awesome - price reductions are sometimes the benefit of moving. for me, I know the insurance premiums will go way down for cars once we live the Washington DC area.

That's lucky that the price dropped due to where you live.
