That is not what was supposed to happen

Things that went right. . . we went to church. We stayed for a holiday catered meal. We went to McPherson and I got almost everything I need, including some medical supplies.
Hubby filled his prescription.
He took me to my sister's house, and he left for the library to turn in books.
He came back to my sister's house and was pulling forward to back into his parking space.
The transmission died. Car would run, but no matter how we moved the shifter, it would not move.
Long and short of it, we called the guy that does our mechanic work as he also has a towing service. He had us check multiple things and concluded that something inside the transmission is broken.
He came to get us, picked up the car. Took us home, and let us unload our shopping. Then he took his car to our place for some complete diagnostics.
I think it is going to be cheaper to get a different car.
This is why I have not been here today.

It’s great to have them paid off, but oh, once they start breaking down.
I hope you can get a newer car (given the car shortage right now) or get that one fixed WELL (not a 500-mile “patch” job).

I hope you're mistaken and your vehicle just needs a new Clutch Cable installed. (I owned Mustangs for years and every two to three years the clutch cable would break and need to be replaced.)

Oh no. I'm sure this is the last sort of problem you would want. And it doesn't really sound like it will be a cheap fix.
