The news is relatively good here: they’re revising the death toll numbers downward. It’s still a tragedy, of course, but they’re no longer saying “at least 100.” Thank God! Here’s another song that was well known by someone other than its author, the legendary Bob Dylan. #5: The Mighty Quinn - Manfred Mann This is one of those songs where I got to adulthood before I realized that Dylan wrote this! Way back, before everyone thought they were saying the French word for bath in their cover of “Blinded By the Light,” Manfred Mann had a number of hits in the 60s. Two of the most memorable are “Do Wah Diddy” and this one. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard Dylan’s version of this song. His version was released three years after the Manfred Mann hit rendition.
