Flood in our university

This was the picture of the flooded University. Because of this, two days were declared suspension of classes. Many were stranded those who work face to face They're from deans offices with staff, Human Resource, Finance Office, Registrar, Library, Graduate studies, University president, chancellors, faculty and students of the college of Medicine, Nursing, IT, Architecture, Chemical Eng'g., maintenance. These courses mentioned need face to face class.
On December 23, there will be face to face Year end Christmas Party in the Rotora's Hall in the university. Survey link was sent to all to attend or not. I didn't fill up the survey form to mean I won't attend. What if heavy rain pours? I don't like to get stranded and all vehicles will be parked far, and we're in a closed door hall and can't escape immediately. Better be safe than sorry.
Am I right to my decision?
Photo posted here is the image of our flooded university shared to me by our dean's secretary.

I told you to stop leaving faucets running... now see what you've done?
I think you're making the right choice. I wouldn't want to be trapped if the rains come down again.

@cacay1 I think you're right. People will be careless about social distancing.
I hope you stay safe.

@DaddyEvil, I'm safe at home, just imagining how happy I would be if no hindrances like virus and flood.

@DaddyEvil , I will not attend. I will just witness the year end party on line. It's scary virus and flood. I don't think so distancing will be followed. People are missing each other after two years without a year end Christmas party.

@marlina, thanks Marlina, I won't care about the gifts distributed during the party. All attendees will have instant 5000 cash gift and boxes of Christmas gifts for all. I already told my program head I'd like to claim my cash gift next year no reply yet.

Yes, better safe than sorry. I mean it's unfortunate, but what can you do. I could have gone to a Christmas event a few days ago, and really wanted to, but I hate driving around here at night with no streetlights and it wasn't close.

@cacay1 No, they just arent installed. This is a rural community, and doesn't have a huge tax base.

Yes, your decision is right. Walking when the flood is really troublesome.

@garfieldlee, they were done by our scientists in the university. Anywhere in the world flood can't be avoided if the flood cause is from a ferocious storm.
