So, what have you been doing today?

I woke up with the determination to cash out on a couple of sites today, and I did it.
It took a bit of the day.
In between I have been washing clothes and washing dishes and making meals.
On impulse hubby bought what was called a "crab bowl", which was actually a Styrofoam tray with fake crab meat and some shrimp sauce and a wedge of lemon. He brought it home for me to make a "crab salad" from.
He likes it. It tastes okay, but for the price per pound I figured for this treat I told him I had rather have a good steak.
This small portion of FAKE crab was not expensive, only $5, but as I pointed out to him, it was 5 oz. of fish, and that figured out to being $1 per ounce, or $16 per pound. Beef still costs less than that.
I am not festive. We are not staying up. I have no fireworks, no bubbly of any kind, but that is okay. Tomorrow is a new day and a New Year.

I was editing a manuscript last night so played on myLot while doing it. I didn't go to sleep until around 8 am or so, then the neighbors set off some fireworks around 11:30 am and woke me up. I finally got back to sleep around 1 pm, then they woke me up again around 5:30 pm... I've cooked supper, done the dishes and talked on myLot since then.
I'll stay up and finish editing the manuscript tonight so I can send it back to the author tomorrow. Hopefully, she'll make the changes I suggested and then I'm done.
I can't remember if I've said this to you yet, so Happy New Year.

You cannot overdo the happy greetings in my book, so Happy New Year to you too. I did not hear any fireworks here. Possibly because it got so cold no one felt motivated.

If someone says a traditional greeting to me, I normally say it back to them, no matter how many times. I'm a creature of habit.
Even with the cold, if it hadn't started pouring rain, we would have had fireworks going off from around 11 pm until just after midnight. Luckily, it was storming too hard for anyone to try.

We babysat from 5-7 for a cousin then came upstairs around 730/8 and he fell asleep shortly after. I stayed up til about 930/10 then woke at 1130 but was back out before midnight.
Steak is always a good choice over fish

I cashed out on swagbucks the other day.
I did stay up, but only because I wanted to read some more, but I didn't finish the book, so it doesn't count for 2021.

I'm with you, I'd rather have a good steak instead of fake crab. But I am glad that your hubby enjoyed it.
We'll be awake watching some television, not the ball drop. Neighbors will probably set off fireworks, they normally do.
