Are you a person that likes the look of gold in jewelry or silver? (I personally like gold or rose gold where I can get it). It is said that 40 to 50% of all gold mined in the world comes from a mine called Witwatersrand Basin. It is located in southern Africa. It was discovered in the late 19th century and has been going strong ever since. It is estimated that over 2 billion ounces of gold have been mined from this basin since it was discovered.

You're up very late tonight. Is everything okay with you?
I prefer gold jewelry. Silver tarnishes when I wear it.

@celticeagle No problem. I guess I just don't normally see you here that late at night.

The state of Washington also has gold, but not nearly that much! It was deposited in the ancient volcanics and sometimes is in the form of wire gold inside quartz. Really pretty but rare because when you take the quartz from around it, it is too delicate to hold its shape.

@celticeagle I think so, but he drew the line at having my gold wedding band and engagement ring changed over. I have to work on him.

I loved gold. Sold mine, being at an older age. I got black stainless steel now.

@celticeagle
When you get to a certain older age, you'd probably do the same, unless you leave your fine jewelry for heirs.

I like silver more too, it feels softer to the touch. Also, I play flute, which is silver, so I have a reason to like it.
