Did You Use Fireworks for the New Year? / myLot

Happy New Year 2022 everyone! I hope you all have a good start of the year. Have a blessed year to all. I have a good start of the year. The New Year’s Eve was quiet with just me and hubby watching ABBA show on you tube while waiting for the new year to strike. I wanted to see the fireworks on our balcony at midnight when the new year came but I decided not to when I heard the loud sounds of a Schreckschusswaffe, a German word of an alarm gun, being used often times instead of fireworks. I was scared so I just stayed inside the house. Fireworks are not sold this year so other people just used their alarm gun as fireworks. Anyway, it was still a good start of the year. My relatives from the Netherlands came to visit us last Sunday for dinner. It was a spontaneous get together and we were all happy meeting again. They went home after dinner as they have to work today. The photo is my first flower bouquet brought by my niece last Sunday. It was beautiful. How did you celebrate the new year? Happy New Year. Fireworks were cancelled here, personal fireworks have been banned years ago and I am grateful for this.

Good to see you here. Thanks for the update. We spent the evening at home watching the conch shell drop over Sloppy Joe's Bar in Key West via webcam. The street was full of hundreds and hundreds of revelers. My husband had fireworks but didn't set any off.

Happy New Years! No fireworks, just noise makers I made myself with dried beans. Glad you had a nice New Years! I had my traditional foods, Martinelli's Sparkling juice and tv. Everyone around me played fireworks.

At my place on New Year's Eve 2022, many fireworks were installed. Very beautiful. Almost everywhere put up fireworks. This wreath for you looks very beautiful. Happy new year to you and your family too. Hopefully in 2022 your luck will be smoother and stay healthy.

CUrled up on the couch and watched the end of a movie with my husband. Actually, I barely noticed it, having heard the neighbors fireworks going off.

Happy New year! Without fail they fire off shotguns and fireworks around my neighborhood. I lost track of time and knew it was new years when I heard pow pow pow!! Let's hope the new year gets off to a good start and stays on the good foot!

Some people set off fireworks on new year's eve, but it's not too crowded compared to previous years, because of covid people don't go out of the house to celebrate new year's eve
