Mizpah, my friend

Today was my BFF's service in Oklahoma. So very sad to have her gone. She had had a blood clot in her leg and had had surgery for it. She had gone to a rehab center to get her leg back in shape afterward. She was doing fine. Her immediate family had visited with her and she had posted on FB thanking her aunt for bringing her a small Christmas tree to have in her room. She was also expressing some excitement about being able to come home soon. Then on December 20th I opened FB as usual and found a message from her daughter asking me to call her ASAP. I tried to call her with the number she gave me but in her upset, she had transposed a number and I was leaving texts and messages with what I later found to be a thoughtful and understanding person I didn't even know. Later other messages from her sister and others told me what had happened. She had had a massive heart attack early that morning. I was shocked and then the full force of what had happened to him like a bolder. It's going to be hard for all her family and close friends to go through future Christmases. Her passing was just too close. I wish I could have been there for the service. Funny that I woke up right at the time the service was going on. Weird how those things happen in life. She was such a loving and giving person. So many people give their regards online. The service must have been standing room only. Small town, and a small church. Mizpah was a thing between her and me. Mizpah is Hebrew for "watchtower". Genesis 31:49 In the Bible it says: "...Mizpah, for he said: “May the LORD keep watch between you and me when we are absent from each other." We will be together at some point.
