I am not a fan of winter, so I decided to put together a music trivia quiz to reflect my view towards snow, ice and cold. And what better way to escape those winter blues than to get away from it all and go someplace warm or just different. Yes, nothing like exploring another place whether real or imagined taking your mind off where you are... in my case the northeastern U.S.A. So, we'll start our journey and head south to some places with a "warmer climate this time of year." It's "Full Sail" ahead with this tropical tune called "Lahaina," by Loggins & Messina, it should make us feel all warm and fuzzy, Enjoy! Ok, it's time to solve the quiz... (Remember words in quotations can provide hints to the music trivia answers) Whodunnit- Name those songs and artists: 1. This is a "fictional island" song by a "group from California," who loves singing about the "beach, fast cars, girls and surfing." The band was asked to record this track for the movie "Cocktail" featuring actor Tom Cruise. This song reached the #1 spot on the Billboard charts in 1988, 20 years after the groups last big hit, their "1966 classic, Good Vibrations." Although the island in the tune is not real, the song lyrics mention other places that are real, "like 'Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahama, Key Largo, Montego." The location of this island paradise is also mentioned in the song somewhere "off the Florida Keys." -Do you know the name of this massively popular "1960's California band" and their song with a title about an imaginary exotic place? 2. This 1975 song reached #5 on the Adult Contemporary Charts and mentions a place "south of the border." "The Country" is a great destination to catch some fun and sun offering some appealing tourist attractions like "Cancun and Acapulco." A perfect place to get away from the cold and to use as a "song title." And that's what this singer/songwriter did. David Crosby and Graham Nash sang the harmonies on this tune. This "singer was married to Carly Simon" at the time, and she also sang on this comeback album, after disastrous reviews on his previously titled LP "Walking Man." This performer has had a hugely successful career performing in his "folk-rock style," with such well-known tunes as "Fire and Rain," "Carolina in My Mind," and his cover of Carole King's "You've Got A Friend," his biggest hit. -Do you know the name of this musician and his foreign place song? 3. This tune from 1982 was a top twenty hit for this band and received a lot of air play on MTV. In the video there is an exotic-looking woman (sometimes wearing body paint) that is the object of their affections. The song includes a famous "laugh in it" performed by the girlfriend of the keyboard player. "The name of this group is 2 words repeated twice," which is quite unique. This English New Wave band's big breakthrough hit in the U.S. was another track off this album called "Hungry Like The Wolf" (#3). The song title is a "favorite city" for tourists to visit in "Brazil." The "city" is one of the most popular destinations in the "Southern Hemisphere," known for Carnival, samba, bossa nova, and beautiful beaches. If you refer to the city by its "shortened name," you have the "one-word" song title. Fun fact: three of the band members have the same last name (Taylor) but are not related! -Do you know the name of this popular 80's band and their song with a foreign city for a title? Ok, let's "have a nice trip" when figuring out these song and artist answers. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as Billy Swan would say, "I Can Help." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new music trivia edition in 2 weeks. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Obviously the first group is the Beach Boys and I'll bet Fourwalls got the title right. Haven't a clue about #2. Perhaps Duran Duran but I'm not that familiar with them so don't know the song.

1. What are you talking about???? I’ve been to Kokomo, Indiana, and it’s very real! . Surf’s up. 2. Ah, that band named after Milo O’Shea’s character in Barbarella. Actually, his name was Durand-Durand, so… Peter Allen went there when his baby smiled at him, at least that’s what his song said. (That song might make the list later, so I won’t name it…..)

Is that Kokomo anywhere near Gary, Indiana...Gary, Indiana...Gary, Indiana? Peter Allen's tune is safe on this trivia series, but I must admit the tune is catchy! Let's make it an honorable mention, lol. Appreciate all the additional trivia you provided. Always enjoy it @FourWalls . Oh yes, you receive 3 stars for those stellar answers...make it 4! A "Round-tripper."

1. Cocomo? Spelling. I love the version done by the Muppets. I think the band might be the one on the tip of my tongue/brain - um Beach Boys. 2 ??? 3. It's where they held the Olympics - another on the tip of my brain name. Don't know the song though. I know the city. I can even see the statue of Christ and can almost see the name of the city on the map in my brain, but it's blurred.

#1- It begins with a "K." Similar sounding to the word "coco" - nut. The artist in #2 was married to Carly Simon and also goes by his initials JT. #3 The city Rhymes with the word "Leo." You did not score a "round trip" on your trivia voyage Linda, but you did drop into a "couple of correct places." Hope those additional clues help!
