January 18 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was good. Another quiet day.
I'm thankful for the things we take for granted. Life, health, the five senses, sight, hearing, smelling, touching, tasting, and talking. We never know how important our senses are until we don't have them. I'm thankful for movement, walking, using my hands to do tasks, chores, working on the computer. We do so many things every day we don't think about. They come naturally to most of us.
I didn't spend a lot of time here today. Instead, I worked on Love's Illusions, one I want to finish this year. Another thing I'm thankful for is the ability to use my mind to formulate books and stories.
It's not only the big things we do every day that make a difference in our lives and in the lives of others, it's the small things too.
I'm so thankful for these gifts and never want to take them for granted. They are part of who I am.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. A sunset earlier this month.

I am thankful for all those things. I've grown up disabled and have learned not to take what I can do for granted. I've struggled my entire life to get what I need to deal with those disabilities. I now have what I need, and I am thankful for it all the same.
However, in answer to your question, I am thankful for the sold night's sleep I got today. After spending most of yesterday morning in pain, I am thankful I felt next to nothing. Mild cramps, but I am thankful it's a lot more managable with medication. That I don't need two baths to feel better.

@just4him I'm almost always in some kind of pain, but the milder stuff I can generally ignore and go on as if it never happened. I just hate days where my pain is a ten out of ten and I can't get comfortable. I slept good last night, too. I know enough sleep helps a lot.

That photo is beautiful. I am thankful that I got to help a friend by taking her to her doctor's appointment, then helping her get all of the ice off her front porch and steps when I dropped her off.

I am thankful I was finally able to get my steps in and even though I laccidentally left my purse at home, I was able to get gas anyway. I have to pay the store back tomorrow. Oh also thankful I was able to get a free tripod.

That's great you could get the gas yesterday. The station must know you to allow you to come back today and pay for it.
I'm glad you got your steps. That's wonderful you got a free tripod.

You are so right, just being able to move about and do ordinary everyday things is so amazing and wonderful, and we don't appreciate it enough until it's too late! I'm so thankful that I'm able to fetch and carry things, walk places, ride my bike and dance!

That's a pretty sunset, very nice:) Can you imagine living without being able to feel, taste or smell? Those are all senses that I so take for granted! And God has blessed me with excellent vision, what a blessing!
