Our kitchen is finally completed other than some touch up sanding and painting that we'll be doing

Our kitchen is completed finally. Now's the hard part, figuring out where everything goes. In this collage of pictures I only have the completed project. If anyone wants to see before pics just ask and I'll post some in a comment. The areas near the stove show a colored knife set on one side and a set of colored utensils on the right. I also purchased pastel towels and wash cloths to bring the colors together. Eventually, I'd like to start having some cut flowers on the countertop if I can keep it clean. The section with three sides, not sure if that has a specific name or not, had to be custom cut and that might be why it took twelve weeks to get it done. The island has the napkin holder on it. Near the island section is the counter with the coffee pot which is to the right of the sink and to the left the toaster and a crock pot which holds our dinner of a roast with baby carrots and potatoes. The roast did better this way than the other week that I cooked it in the oven. Then it was tough and chewy. This time it falls apart without the use of a knife. I will be posting this before the pic in case it needs more cropping.

I would love to have your counter tops. They are beautiful. Can’t wait to see the finished kitchen.

Your kitchen looks beautiful. I did not know you also had an island in the middle of your kitchen.

@MarshaMusselman I see what you mean, no this is not an island, as it is attached on one end to the other cabinets. I do not know if it has a name.

I guess it would not be considered a true island. It separates the kitchen from the dinette but it's attached on one end too where the coffee pot sits. Right now it's loaded with things to find a home for our is to to take another photo of just that. Maybe later.

I didn’t realize counters were called islands or am I missing something? They are so pretty I love what you chose! Bet it feels so good for it to be almost completely done.

@MarshaMusselman okay I thought maybe an island means something different then what I thought. My parents have one but never used it really it’s just heaped up with about a foot of papers and other clutter. Most was my sisters stuff and she moved out so maybe it’s better now I’m not sure. My husband wants to get rid of our oval kitchen table, get an island for the kitchen and a dining room table for the dining room. I don’t want any of that I like the side of my table for cooking on, eating at and folding my laundry on.

@shaggin We don't have an actual dining room just a dinette. The section of counter I was calling an island separates the two rooms.

I may not know what technically an island is. You're right mine isn't open on all four sides just three of them. It does feel great to make it this far and I'm a bit surprised in how well everything matches. Even though we went with a less expensive material for the countertops the way it was cut makes it look like a more expensive type..

Very happy. The knives were my daughter's and my husband doesn't like them so I'll keep the steak knives were used to use they'll just be in a drawer once I find them again.

Very happy. It will be nice once everything is back in place but that will take a bit figuring out.

Thanks. I plan on it. It will be interesting figuring out where everything will go since they are different than the way the old ones were set up.

Will you be cooking more in your new kitchen?

Since I work full time right now I won't be cooking more than I did before we started but it will be more than what I was doing during the remodel. Once I retire then I can do more.
