Good morning Monday from this side of the planet. It's 10:48 AM here as I write this post. It's supposed to be my first morning break from the work. But it's such that this one comes as the end of my work at school for today. So, it was a short working day from 8:30_10:45 in the morning. A short working day is always good but I am not feeling good about it. My next meeting with the Montessori teacher is cancelled as the poor young girl and her husband have tested positive for the virus. She has no idea from where they got the virus as they hardly stepped out of the house. Seems like there has been cluster infection in the building where she resides. Her husband shows mild symptoms but she is having high degree fever and is totally tired. Praying for both and hope they recover soon. The cases in our apartment complex had gone down from 87 to 10 last week but it picked up again in the last two days. In the last two days, we got 52 new cases and once again we are a declared containment zone. Weekend was an okay one. I spend a little more than four hours on the road. It was not fun and it left me too tired at the end of it. My elder daughter had an entrance exam yesterday and it was on a physical centre that was quite far from my home. I left my house early morning at 6 to reach there on time. We had to report there at 7. There was almost no traffic then and Google map was helpful to reach the destination. I planned to stay there till her exam got over at 12 and so went prepared with my lunch and water bottle. But the place was on outskirts of the city and had no cafe or nearby parks where I could spend five hours. Moreover, it was overcrowded and there was no car parking place in 5km radius. So, I returned home after dropping her. It took me more than an hour to come back. Traffic had started picking up. Came home, finished a few chores and in another two hours I had to go again to pick her up. Google map showed traffic congestion and I opted to book an ola cab instead of talking my car this time. Glad I did. It took us 2 hours to and fro. We were at home around 2:30 and we took a long two hours nap in the afternoon after our lunch.. That's for the chit chat and latest updates from this side. I will be here for a while and then head to the kitchen to cook lunch Hope all is well at your mylot corner. Take care

I would have found a parking space and stayed in my car reading until her tests were done and just picked her up and driven home. I've done that before. I hope she did really well on the tests. I saw a video yesterday from England. Their Prime Minister said they were done wearing masks and quarantining people. They were going to let people decide what protections, if any, they wanted to take against Covid. (I think that was a mistake. I guess we'll find out fairly quickly.)

This is the third time that Boris Johnson makes the same mistakes... all people free, no masks, no rules and then the virus invades Europe.

@LadyDuck It is too early for any leader across the globe to jump up to any such decision. We have seen so many waves and deaths. One has to act sensibly and with patience.

I have done that too. On her last exam on 2nd January, I stayed there for four hours. The center was in a college and they had enough car parking spaces and beautiful parks and landscaping within the campus of the college. I found a good spot in their sports ground. Got good sun and it was fun to spend those four hours reading, mylotting, and making a few calls. The ambiance was beautiful and I utilized the time well.[em]happy[/em This center was on outskirt of the city and the building had no space. It was three storeyed building on the side of the road with no front or backspace. The roads were very narrow, just enough for two vehicles coming from opposite sides to pass each other without bumping into each other. Parking on the sides of the road would have not been possible without getting hit by the ongoing cars. After a few minutes of moving around in all the adjacent lanes, I chose to come back.

Hopefully there will be another decline in your apartment, and you and your family will stay safe, and stay healthy, free from covid.

We all hope so. In the last few hours, a few more cases have been added. Our downstairs neighbors too got their reports today and both the families have tested positive.

@arunima25 If so, the area where you currently live has become a red zone. You and your family must be careful and continue to apply health protocols

@sinari Yes, it is a containment zone and strict restrictions are in place. We are not stepping out of our home. Things are getting home delivered here and even we are working from home.

I am so sorry for the young girl and her father. If the virus is in the building, I think it's hard to escape. We are very careful, but you can never know. I am sorry you could not find a place where to park the car and wait. Often we have the same problem here, the roads are crowded and there are no parking areas where to park and wait.

@arunima25 - I remember that you got Covid after a meeting and you wrote that you were too close during the meeting in school. We have mainly those kind of narrow roads here, you cannot park on the side of the road, as you prevent the others to circulate. I see in too many places people being too close.

@LadyDuck Yes, I was asymptomatic with mild headache. I had to undergo testing as we got the news that my colleague tested positive and I had come in contact with her. By then my daughter got it from me. I got a severe headache and tiredness along with loss of appetite after two days and lost weight. No fever, cold or breathlessness.

Our downstairs neighbors have got it and they got the result today. I am very careful but then I have got it once despite all the precautiuons, It was too crowded at the examination center yesterday and I was scared with the thought of someone being asymptomatic carrier there. it was on outskirt of the city and the roads were very narrow, just enough for two vehicles coming from opposite sides to pass each other without bumping into each other. Parking on the sides of the road would have not been possible without getting hit by the ongoing cars. After few minutes of moving around in all the adjacent lanes, i chose to come back.

@freelancermariagrace I am confined to home, everything is being delivered at my door step and even exercising indoors. I stepped out twice to drive my daughter to her exam center. Well, that was something important and I had to do it. We took all precautions to stay safe.

Sorry to hear that the virus has spread to your teacher and her husband. I hope they don't suffer too much. It's so hard to figure out where the virus comes from when you're being so careful not to catch it. That sounds like a very exhausting round trip for your daughter and her exam. So far my Monday morning is off to a good start

It was an exhaustive trip and that's why we took a long nap in the afternoon. Today I had a talk with my colleague over phone. She sounded so exhausted and weak. She was due for her second shot but now she has to postpone it. The virus does make you very weak and tired. Hopefully they recover soon and fully.

It was tiring with all the time in the traffic. She did well and was happy with her performance. Let's hope she gets it. There are very few seats and a huge number of applications. We need luck too.

My Monday was ok. My mother found my dvds so I put them in my uncle's tv stand. I got a text from my boyfriend saying he is thinking about coming down for a visit this weekend. (He lives in New Jersey and I live in North Carolina.)

It's the same here. Today I had to visit the school physically for some office and paperwork as an academic coordinator. The school had weird silence without children there. We want the campus life back and hope it happens soon
