Laughter is Indeed the Best Medicine

We have all heard the saying, Laughter is the best medicine. It is so very true.
In conversing back and forth with @Vikingswest1 recently, laughter came up. A reminder to all of the importance of laughter. Not only for yourself but for those around you.
No matter what is going on around us, if we can smile and have a laugh, it can keep us healthy.
And laughter is such a stress reliever.
Here are a few quotes about laughter:
Holding on to anger, resentment and hurt only gives you tense muscles, a headache and a sore jaw from clenching your teeth. Forgiveness gives you back the laughter and the lightness in your life.
It is impossible for you to be angry and laugh at the same time. Anger and laughter are mutually exclusive and you have the power to choose either.
I just want to spend the rest of my life laughing.
Feel free to share yours.

I remember as a kid, reading that section in the Readers Digest.
I have always used laughter as a tool to brighten the mood of others and myself.
Laughing can be a medicine for many ailments and I agree with your wish to laugh for all your days. It's my wish too.

I should have mentioned your name in this one, you helped me to remember to laugh. My brother and my son were both very funny. They always kept me laughing. Thinking about them and the good times makes me smile now. I hope our wish comes true.

I hope that photo I posted of myself wasn't what made you remember to laugh
When the kids were little, we would sit around the fire pit at night. S'mores, marshmallows and hot dogs,
And stories.
Everyone would take turns telling made up stories. Many times, the kids friends were there too. They would make up stories too. We would spend hours laughing.
As the kids got older, there were fewer times at the fire pit but the laughter was still there. My fondest memories were made there.
The kids have moved away and it's been some time since the last fire in the pit.
My son is coming next month and he mentioned that he'd like to have a fire at the pit while he is here.
I. Can't. Wait.

@Vikingswest1 Not at all. The older I get the more I realize just how short life really is. I have taken things way too seriously for too long. Oh my gosh. I got chills as I read your last sentence. Enjoy those priceless moments. What I would give. Just enjoy my friend.

Laughter makes you feel better, even for a little while, even if you don't realize it.
It's our own personal superpower. One everyone is capable of.

I agree with what you said about laughter. I wish I could smile and laugh more but there are those around us that want to make our lives miserable and everyday they do something to us and do not let us rest. I go out and come home to what they have done while I have been out and wish they would go away so we could have peace and quiet. I did nothing to them and they have done so much to me.

I know all that but there are those that are so nasty and got so bad during the corona that they are so miserable that they want me to be as miserable as them and have to want to destroy not only me but my cat as well. It is not easy when others do not leave you alone and whatever I tried backfires on me and cannot get a break.

So very true! I like to watch comedy before I go to bed. I laugh away and sleep good.

yes everyone loves and benefits from a good laugh. When I am stressed or in pain, I look for a good comedy on tv. or youtube, etc.

@CarolDM I never seem to laugh quite that hard these days. I'm a bit of a sad sack, but I do chuckle from time to time and that helps.
