My Brother's Mental Health

Me and My Brother Tim through the years

I know many of you here remember my brother Tim, I'm sure many of you remember different things that happened with him here and elsewhere that lead to his removal from this site. Well I don't think it's a secret that my brother had some mental health problems, they have dated back many years but they have reached the extreme now, My brother is now having full on psychosis, hes seeing and hearing voices, and he is saying they our threatening his life. It's been very scary and really god bad around Christmas time. I love my brother dearly, we have had many issues as most families do but he has always had a good heart, to see him have such fear, and to see him going through what he is it's absolutely heartbreaking. After several attempts to get him help we're delayed, we finally got him to see a doctor today and they have prescribed him olanzapine. I pray to god this works, as seeing my brother going through this is heartbreaking, i am the youngest of my mother's three children, I feel i've already lost my big sister due to drug addiction, and now i feel like i am losing my brother. I have taken on so much, helping support my mom, being full time caregiver to my grandmother, helping with the care part time of my disabled niece, and being daycare for my great nephew.... it's a lot, but i love my family and will do anything to help them, that includes me brother. If you pray, please pray for my brother, i hope he will get better quickly but this could be a very long process unfortunately.

@cacay1 The medication prescribed is to treat schizophrenia. My sister in law suffered of schizophrenia, there were times she was really bad, she heard voices, invented situations, it was not easy.

@LadyDuck That's scary, maybe hereditary for there are so many people having many problems but never got insane or mentally sick. They're so unfortunate.

I will update you soon on that, next month Feb 27th is his birthday and i am thinking about requesting cards to him from all his friends and family i think it would mean a great deal to him, he has always suffered from depression to and all this has been a lot on him, so i think him getting some cards for his birthday would really mean a lot to him, and show him just how much he matters and is loved and cared about.

You are wonderful to do so much to take care of your family. I do remember Tim! My husband has a niece that was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia - so I've been doing some research on it too. Like you said, it's heartbreaking and scary. I truly hope the treatment will help your brother . . . you are all in my thoughts.

@chrissbergstrom It is difficult - my niece's husband is going through the same as you right now. She has paranoia about people following her and hears voices too.

@chrissbergstrom yes, but the heart is also affected. Eat celery and spinach they make heart strong. They evade tears. They're superb veggies. I eat them when feel heart broken and mind drained. We're just humans. Also fish liver makes our nervous system stronger. Before I kept on imagining things beyond my reach as if I was managing a movie show. I felt nervous, so I make research how to make our nervous system strong. I've found the best cure and that's fish liver. I only eat straight fish liver for 2 weeks and I no longer felt nervous without real reason. You just fry the fish liver. If no fish liver, the substitute is chicken liver just one each meal.

He has only been seen by a doctor via zoom, so it's hard for them to fully diagnosed him just yet, but when we get him into a new doctor that should be next. But they do people it's a form of schizophrenia I have a article that is almost identical to what's happening with him.
