Rising With The Sun

Or no sun. What are your first thoughts upon awakening in the morning, when you jump out of bed or ease out as some of us may have to do? Then what are the three or four things you usually do before you can really start your day? I would first give thanks that I am awake -and no disaster occurred during the night. Next l head for the bathroom, then l proceed with my meditation. Finally l consider what I will be having for Breakfast- which is is my main meal for the day, and l usually prepare something fabulous. Pixabay image

I moan and groan when I have to get out of bed as I'm not much of a morning person per se. I shower, get dressed and then come downstairs for my coffee. Coffee makes me feel a bit human and then I figure out what I'm going to do for the day. It just takes me longer to get started when the sun isn't shining (like today)

Quite a large number of people are not morning persons. In fact some people (in the same time zone as mine) are having breakfast while l am having lunch.

I turn on the light in my tank of fishies, feed them, go to the bathroom and take my morning meds... and then get back in bed since I've been awake most of the night. When other people are up and moving I'm trying to sleep, if Pretty lets me.

Are you usually awake most of the night? Not good for your health.

I wake up early no matter what - no alarm, my body just does that. I get out of bed, look out the front door to turn off the porch light and make sure our cars are there . I turn on the light in the main area. Then I get my water with a zap of apple cider vinegar. That is pretty much every single morning!

@Kandae11 My parents were this way too. For sure when I had my babies, it was necessary for me to get up way earlier every morning. And now the kids are older, but I still have this routine.

I too have no need for an alarm clock. I suppose my body was conditioned to early rising during the early days when my young son was on the early morning shift (classes) at school.

Long time no see! I also have a similar routine to yours. The first thing I usually do is say a prayer, then read a bit of the Bible and meditate. When it comes to breakfast, I am not hungry in the morning and have some fruit around two to three PM.

@Kandae11 My meditation revolves around trying to understand what I'm reading from the Bible. Yes, I usually eat some fruit as my first meal, wait and hour and then eat my main meal and if I get hungry later then I will eat again but do not eat anything after 8 PM.

Nice seeing you too. I suppose you would have a substantial dinner then? Or you don't eat much.?My meditation session includes prayer and listening to some of my favorite gospel songs.

I am glad to know you have a good breakfast Kandase. I usually do not eat til later on. First thing that I do is go downstairs to make coffee. Then all the rest after. And always thank God too for the day and the night safe and sound. Grateful that my legs are working and I do not have to depend on someone else to get around. Have a very nice day now there Kandase.

I give thanks that I live to see another day. I also am thankful that I don.t have to go outside in the cold. Then it is coffee and breakfast later if I feel like it.

My first thoughts when I wake are getting my prayer study done, followed by time in prayer and then Bible study. It's always a great waking up morning.

Someone said one should : "breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and have dinner like a pauper". Well it works for me.None of my close family members follow that rule.

@JudyEv Ha ha, indeed it would be difficult. My son lives with me and we have different schedules so l spend more time in the kitchen - and he doesn't cook.

I wake up, then roll back over and sleep for about 15 more minutes, then wait for all the tiredness to go away for about 15 minutes, i feel like a hangover every morning. Then get a cup of cranberry juice and very light breakfast. Meditation keeps a peaceful mind in the mornings. Wish it lasted a little longer, especially waking up to the sunrise

I would remain in bed for 15 or 20 minutes before getting up. Cranberry juice is very healthy - but expensive here. I squeeze half a lemon or lime in a glass of water and have it half an hour before breakfast.

I thank God that I am awake. Then look at the window how the weather is before getting up and making a mug of tea. Then I go back to bed with my tea until I have done drinking in bed. Then, getting up and doing some chores.

I always forget to give thanks lol. My first thought is the plan I had in mind for the day (what am I cooking, chores, work, etc). Bathroom is the first place I visit too lol. I then do my workouts, then finish off with yoga and meditation, then a shower, get kids ready for school, then I start cooking and have my One Meal a Day as breakfast. During my workouts, I get a lot of ideas coming up randomly, so I be sure to write those down on my phone. The early hours of the morning are the best for brainstorming.
