A truck driver who was behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler is grateful that the Tangipahoa Parish Firefighters came to get him out of his truck after he was involved in an accident getting on the onramp to get to Interstate 55 in Tangipahoa Parish which west of the Greater New Orleans city limits on Sunday morning. Firefighters answered an emergency call from either the driver or a concerned eyewitness to assist him since he was trapped inside the semitrailer in Amite City on Sunday morning. The good news is that the driver of the semitruck only has minor injuries and he is expected to make a full recovery thanks to the efforts of the Tangipahoa Parish firefighters who had to battle cold weather to execute the rescue. The cause of the accident is under investigation at this time while on the onramp on Interstate 55 North is closed until the accident scene is cleared. Firefighters are real heroes who work around the clock to save lives of persons involved in accidents that are out of their control.

That old saying is true. "Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.' I agree that firefighters are real heroes.

You are right since on ramp truck accidents can be terrible for the accident victim.

I agree with you since on ramps that lead to interstates are deadly if an accident happens.

Glad they were on the job and there to rescue him, Those big trucks always made me nervous when I drove years ago and had to pass them by,

I know how you feel since when I used to drive just seeing them was scary to be close to one of them.

An 18 wheeler could be a real difficulty for fire-fighters to try to shift.

I have seen the footage of 18 wheelers down on the highways on the television news. They are hard to get upright.
