I know there are different kinds of facemasks. Some are cheap some are expensive. Right now my favorite mask is a 3D masks. It is thicker than surgical masks and gives better covering. Before we buy boxes of surgical masks. Before also I use cloth masks. Even if we use disposable masks we still wash it and use it for second time before throwing them away. What is the best and most effective face masks? What do you always use?

Not using one at all. For me, wearing any kind of face covering can be dangerous. Due to my brain injury, it's dangerous to risk over heating. If you're going to wear one, make sure you are doing it because you feel it's the right thing for you. Not because someone tells you have to.

I didn't know that. Sorry to hear it's not good for you. I'm actually not comfortable wearing any kind of facemask. I usually pull it down so my nose can breathe

No mask is actually more affective then the other really because you can easily pick up a drop let form any surface you touch with your hands. So we use what reusable clothes one works just find never had Covid. My husband at work as a nurse usual disposable to use the same one all week. They are not washable because there isn’t good for material at all and thins it out more. It’s rare but they do have to wear the big mask like you see in some movies for contaimination with the yellow suite.

I think more expensive masks are the most effective than cheaper ones

@averygirl72 price doesn’t affect quality its what is used to make the mask that does. You can have cheap material and mark the price up or you have high material and charge low price. I’m the market of selling and buying a company or person wants the most out do what they make. Basing there selling point off a few different things one how much they have one hand, 2 there time it took to make it, how much did they get everything for. Then you have labels many people want labels vs store brand because they believe the label make the product better when the same product is being sold for less with just the store name logo vs the companies logo which want you buy for them knowing your paying for the name not the product itself.

We use the medical masks, those are the only accepted inside the stores. For more protection, we can use the FFP2 RN masks, those are more expensive, but should we need to go in a place where there are many people, they protect more.

None. They don't work. If they did, three years later we would not be talking about Covid. In fact, the vaccines don't work either. Everyone I know who got vaccinated got Covid. The whole thing is crap.

@averygirl72 What's that old saying? If it is not broke, don't fix it. Doing something for nothing solves nothing and is a waste of time.

I think we pretty much have and use all the different kinds - and often layer them too. In school, my kids have not been allowed to wear any fabric ones since after winter break. Thus far we have all stayed well.

@averygirl72 My kids started school in August. Our school district has the strictest covid protocols in the nation with weekly testing, masks, etc . . . and thus far the system has been working out real well.

I used to wear cloth masks but when there's a surge again here in my province, I already switched to surgical masks... it is more convenient coz I don't have to wash them after use... I just throw it away after use.

@averygirl72 ok dear. You can try. I think it provides more safety than cloth masks, that's why many doctors wear it

I use a mask when it's mandatory to enter a business. I put one on to go in and I take it off when I come out. The N95 filtration mask is the most effective mask you can purchase. It runs about 10USD and requires filters. Filters are relatively cheap. It is 95% effective in preventing Covid. It has a life span of about two weeks of daily use.
