Lovely Rest Stop

There’s something about a scenic view at a rest stop. it provides more than facilities. With something pretty to look at, you feel like disconnecting from the car and really resting from your drive.
So kudos to the good folks in Tennessee who put a rest area/welcome center right on the shore of Lake Nickajack!
I’ve mentioned this place before. It’s part of a Tennessee Valley Authority dam system, and the lake is created from a dam on the Tennessee River. The river meanders along I-24 coming out of Chattanooga, providing one of my favorite views. (Last year, when I was at the Battle of Chattanooga battlefield, on top of a cliff, I could see the view from a different angle.)
Yes, it was a perfect place to get out and stretch my legs.
And if you’re thinking that Tennessee isn’t that close to Florida, you’re correct. I’m home now. I have to restock my supplies and go pick up a certain couple of people in Ohio who shall remain nameless.

The view in the photo is lovely.
The best scenic overviews I've ever seen are along the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC. The missus and I often pack a picnic lunch and make a day of driving our favorite section of the Parkway, stopping to take pictures along the way, when we are camping in the mountains.

Isn't that a lovely area there.
I wonder there must still be a lot of people with no power in TN.
I know my nephew said his work is out in Memphis.

That's a lovely view. And I am afraid that if I get such scenic rest areas, my trip might get delayed. I will over stay in such rest areas.
