February 17 - What I'm Thankful for Today

This day got away from me very fast. It's not like I didn't get up on time, well, maybe I didn't. It was after 2 when I pulled myself out of bed this morning. I'm thankful for the great workout at the Y this morning. I did well in the pool and fitness center. I'm thankful for the hour nap I got this morning, and probably where my day got away from me. I'm thankful for playing canasta with the ladies. I had a lot of fun. One person, the scorekeeper, is a real talker and didn't pay attention when she did the score, on one hand, so we started the game over. Twice as it happened as one member had to leave for a dentist appointment. Making it three people instead of four. It was a good couple of hours and I learned more about the game. Okay, that's my day. I'm getting off the computer. Tomorrow I'll be doing laundry after the exercise class, so it will be the afternoon before I get back here to interact. I am thankful for the nice weather which was rainy this afternoon which will likely become cold this evening through the weekend as well as work in doing surveys.

We got a new addition to the family. My nephew brought home a cute puppy. He hasn't decided on a name for her yet.

I’m thankful to see buds popping out on the trees and dogwoods blooming. I just hope it doesn’t turn real cold and freeze them. Why did you get up at two in the morn? That’s awfully early.

I do my prayer and Bible study before I leave for the pool. In the books I'm reading, it's taking longer to find the next prayer for the Bible study. They're few and far between in Isaiah, so there's a lot of reading.

That my pain meds did their job. And, despite the downsides to the day, I got everything done I needed to do. So, that in itself is something to be thankful for.

I think today flew by too. Some just seem to while others drag by. Time is funny that way. I am thankful that the things Mike ordered arrived before the rain did.

We just finished a wonderful meal, from leftovers and a pan of rice. Instead of plain white rice, I added some shredded Asiago cheese and a little garlic power. Our entire meal was yummy:) Jay and I had another good day, nothing upset the apple cart.

Did you work out cause you to need to take a nap? Sounds like you enjoyed your time playing cards

Yes, swimming, fitness center, and the exercise class here at the complex. It was an exercise morning. I'm glad you had a nice sunny day. I hope it is for you. Here, we need more snowfall. If we don't get it, we'll have a late growing season. They're already projecting a drought.
