I've finished my latest project

The photo shows an infinity scarf that I’ve just finished crocheting. An infinity scarf is one where the ends are joined so the whole thing forms a circle. I’ve made it while I’ve been watching the winter Olympic events.
It is a simple pattern which could get a bit tedious after a while but, because I’ve been engrossed in the skiing events, suddenly it’s finished.
I have a knitted one in much the same colour so I might put this in the op shop. The knitted one actually feels softer. Do you do something with your hands while you’re watching television?

So that is what it's called. I have seen one in stores and I could not describe what it is until now.
Anyway I think that makes a lot of skills doing crocheting as I saw it with my mom doing that and when you see it looks simple but it needs a lot of good eye and hand coordination to make a good pattern/design.

I usually try to catch up with myLot when watching a movie.
It is a beautiful scarf and I love the color Judy.

@RebeccasFarm I just leave it set up in the office. The only thing to do would be to buy a new one but I don't want to do that yet.

@JudyEv - We enjoyed watching the Olympic events, too! Some of those skiers were real dare-devils! It was scary to watch them. I love the infinity scarf you made. I have crocheted a few scarves, but not one like that!

@JudyEv - I have crocheted afghans where I joined two large granny squares in the middle to make it oblong instead of square. I love it when you can barely find the seam!
The skiers and snowboarders who did flips in the air, either coming over a ski jump or in the half barrel, were amazing. How do you learn to do those things? I would never be brave enough to go that high in the air, let alone start doing flips when I was up there!

@DeborahDiane I think some do the flips into water but I'm not sure. I know a young man from our previous town who was world-renowned for his trick motor-cycle riding. He had a huge 'tank' of foam balls that he could land in when practising something new.

@JudyEv When my laptop battery started to die on me, I had to keep my laptop plugged in to run it. It became very inconvenient.

@moffittjc It's not too bad here. It just stays plugged in in the office but if we're in the caravan taking photos at a ride and we don't have power, well then it is inconvenient.

I never watch TV without keeping my hands busy. I am either folding clothes and ironing, mylotting, checking online for art craft ideas and maybe doing needle work. I am new to crochet and learning it from my younger daughter..still not an expert to do it along with watching TV
. My younger daughter does crochet while watching TV.
That scarf looks pretty
. I love the colour.

@arunima25 It is indeed and if you have a big piece of easy crochet to do, say the back of a cardigan, then watching TV is a good distraction for that too.

@JudyEv Yes, many monotonous chores like ironing, peeling potatoes etc can be done with TV. It's a good distraction

That’s beautiful! Whenever I watch a movie or TV on Netflix, I make sure to focus as I am not a good multitasker

Crocheting a scarf, while watching the Winter Olympics, in the southern hemisphere where it is definitely NOT winter. See what you've done? The simplest things sometimes set off the oddest thought trains!

@JudyEv that is pretty wild, especially when you consider all the people who dream of going to the Olympics and devote years working towards that end, only to not qualify.

I know Mum used to knit socks using four needles. Is that how you do it? And they used to talk about 'turning' the heel. I think that was a bit tricky for some.

I've never heard of an infinity scarf. What do you use it for?

@JudyEv Oh, okay. It just seems odd to me. Pretty would love that color, though.

That's very pretty! I'm glad our winters are usually fairly mild...I can't wear anything around my neck.

@JudyEv Me too. I always feel like I should be doing something else when watching TV.
