Raindrops Falling On My Head

Rain has been falling most of the week here. Thunder and lightning last night. Flood warnings out for many counties.
Went out to refill the bird feeder on the deck. I thought it was in between showers but nope, raindrops were falling on my head. No worries. I survived. Ha!
A few of the neighbor's yard looks like a lake, literally. They have a low lot and the water sits when it rains for days. Thankfully this lot sits a little higher. All is well.

We were lucky to get a nice day yesterday but today it's back to the same old cold, nasty, winter weather. Snow coming, then ice and then rain. I'm hoping the rain will wash away everything that falls before it.
You're lucky your lot is higher and your yard doesn't look like a lake. Does the water drain off quickly when the rain stops or do your neighbors have to deal with that for days after?

Rain all week here. And the cold is coming back when it is all done. So glad this is a higher lot, we checked that before buying,
The rain will drain but not quickly, as many lots in the neighborhood has to all drain in one direction. It can be a mess for them for days.

I am glad you have the higher lot then Carol. I sure would not like to be sitting in water with a low lot.

@CarolDM When I was a child, the house we lived in was on a slope and water would come in the front door when it rained.

It’s not too bad here. It seems most of the heavy rain has been in southern and western Kentucky….where they don’t need it while trying to clean up from the December tornadoes.

We are on a little incline; so except for mud and water in the driveway, we are OK. The south has had thunderstorms all winter long. Global warming?

We were supposed to have rain all week but we have had 2 nice afternoons of sun. That was a pleasant surprise for us. The dog parks have been really muddy though so I have been walking Jenny but not letting her run around in the dog parks. I don't want to get my truck all dirty!

It is good to be on high ground. I am here too. Most of the rain has stayed to the south so we haven't really gotten much thankfully.
