Could Biden and Putin Be Working in Concert?

It is time to go a little bit off the deep end here and do a little bit of a "This is what they would do to Trump" scenario. Or, "this is what they would accuse Trump of doing." However you want to look at it, I will admit this will be a bit out there. But you know what? Is it really outside of the realm of possibility? Nowadays I don't know anymore. But this thought did suddenly occur to me. What if you needed to explain away gas prices in another way just before a mid-term election cycle getting underway? What if you needed a reason other than the real one to explain away why gas prices are so high? What if you could you use this explanation to convince certain voters to "look the other way," and even forget about WHEN the prices actually started to rise? Enter Putin. Enter the Ukraine invasion. Enter a new reason for gas prices hiking. Gas prices would have invariably gone up anyway. The invasion just means higher. What if the invasion is nothing more than Putin helping Biden out with that new narrative? I mean, it's a stretch. I am willing to admit that. It's probably insane to even suggest it. Do I believe it? Of course not. But the fact is that gas prices have nearly doubled since Biden took office and signed his executive orders reversing Trump's energy policies. Most Americans are feeling THAT pinch perhaps more than anything. Maybe they are making the correlation? Maybe they are not. But if the Biden administration can point to the Ukraine invasion and the media wants to follow along with that... I am just saying people should be paying attention and listening very closely to what the new narrative becomes on gas prices, especially into the mid-term campaigns, and just keep it in mind that anything is possible. Even the crazy sounding stuff like this.

The announcement that the US is tapping into strategic reserves should come just before mid-terms. You know, to help Americans pain at the pumps. Political theater for votes. I almost expect another stimulus to be announced if the polls swing to the right.

@porwest I agree. Most people don't have a clue and will cheer the tiny bit of help from those announcements. We both know that the only way to get prices under control is to go back to the policies under Trump.

@Vikingswest1 What a lot of people are not aware of is that gas prices were high almost the entire two terms of Barack Obama, and what Trump's policy actually was (although not entirely) was a reversal of Obama energy policy. With the addition of the approval of the Keystone Pipeline this was key. The surprising thing is two fold for me. 1) It is CLEAR that Trump's energy policy worked, and by reversing TRUMP'S energy policy we essentially went back to Obama's policy which is also clear (after Trump changed the policy) that Trump had the better idea—so 2) why did we knowingly go back to failed policy? Only now to turn around and tell the American people they are "working day and night to continue to find creative solutions to ease gas prices for American families," when with the stroke of a pen they brought the pain right to their doorsteps... With another single stroke of a pen they can go back to the policy that worked and fix the problem. EVEN IF it means they have to admit they were wrong. Who cares? Don't the needs of the American people matter more than who was right and who was wrong? None of it makes any sense. And where's the media? Absent as always spreading lies and dismissing truths and telling stories according to what they want the story to be. Not what the story IS.

The whole "pulling from the strategic reserves" thing is puzzling, right along with their idea to suspend the federal gas tax through the end of the year. They will ease things A TINY WEE BIT. But it's not going to help prices until the real reason prices are higher is addressed. The reversal of Trump's energy policies. Granted, that's not the ONLY reason gas prices went up. BUT, going back to Trump energy policy would ease things more than anything else possibly could.

I am reserving judgement about this but I would not put it past him. I don't trust either of them.

There is an underlying message in making this very ridiculous claim I have made, and that is that through the comments it will likely show how much bias there actually is out there these days. One could make the most ridiculous claims and accusations about Trump and everyone went right along with it. "Yep, sounds about right." "He's evil and would definitely do that." No matter HOW ridiculous the claim by the way. I mean, we are even to the point that the left is denying their own accusations. Think about it. When Trump won the FIRST person to claim the election was stolen was Hilary Clinton. Does anyone remember that? The left was right onboard with that idea that an election COULD be stolen, and pursued with tenacity investigations to find the evidence that it was INDEED Russia collusion that made it possible. Only to have Trump utter the VERY SAME WORDS after an election result FAR MORE QUESTIONABLE than 2016 and have democrats outright calling this out as the dumbest most irresponsible accusation of all time. Does anyone see the hypocrisy here? And of course we all know Trump was accused of terrible and horrible and unthinkable things all the time. And not one person on the left ever questioned it. They accepted it all as plausible acceptable truth no matter how ridiculous the claims were or became. But when it comes to Biden? Nothing to see here. Everything is above board. Don't be ridiculous and start making wild accusations just because you are sore your guy lost. Wow, how the walk changes when the shoe winds up on the other foot. It is interesting, uncanny, and quite frankly...frightening.

@akalinus No one is seeing it, no one is asking questions, and unfortunately the media controls the narrative and people just believe everything they are told. It's dangerous. I mean, look at where we are. lol

You certainly could be right. We'll see as the elections get closer what the narrative is.

Of course, I posed what I think is a 'ridiculous' accusation in order to illustrate a larger point in comments. In part, that the same people who will call me a fool for believing such nonsense were the same ones who spewed far more 'out there' nonsense about Trump and believed it. lol

@porwest I accused Trump of working with Putin to distract from rising gas prices?

@NJChicaa Don't be dense. lol You accused Trump of being serious about drinking bleach to combat Covid. You accused Trump of colluding with the Russians to "steal" an election (something I guess, according to the democrats NOW is actually ridiculous and impossible). You accused Trump of being a supporter of white supremacist groups when his words "very fine people" was taken quite out of context. There were many, many, many wild and ridiculous claims made throughout Trump's presidency that a lot of people just took as 'the truth,' no matter how ridiculous. At the end of the day the BIG and glaring one really IS the election. No one on the left batted an eye when Hilary Clinton claimed "the election was stolen." According to the left it was possible, it happened, and it had to go punished. They launched into investigation after investigation... Surprisingly when Trump made the claim, according to the left, the idea was said to be preposterous and irresponsible and just the result of a sore loser. Can you not see some of the hypocrisy? As for my belief that what I wrote in this article is true or even possible? If you read into it it was all hypothetical and I said myself was ridiculous on its merits. I am using it, in part, to illustrate in comments how easily the left was able to believe some pretty radical things, but somehow anything 'radical' that the left might be accused of is just idiotic. If gas prices were high right now and Putin invaded Ukraine and gas prices went even higher and someone accused Trump of colluding with Putin to form an excuse for the higher prices—you'd have believed it!

My point in all of this is not necessarily whether or not anyone agrees with the 'story' or the accusation. In comments it will illustrate how easily one side will accept one ridiculous story when it is not their guy while totally dismissing a ridiculous story when it is. Even lacking any evidence whatsoever on the Russia collusion accusation, and even with mounting evidence that it was actually the democrat party and the Clinton campaign with the help and approval of Barack Obama to pull this story out, there are some people who still believe it. The way that people will choose (from the left) to respond to this ridiculous accusation I made can and should be very eye opening to a lot of people about how much bias we have in this country right now, and perhaps even around the world. Someone says "Trump incited a riot and wanted to take over the entire government," and people believe it without a second thought, easily. Someone says "Trump supports Putin's invasion of Ukraine," and it's hook line and sinker truth for everyone. Trump says "Drink bleach to cure Covid," and it's taken as a literal comment. I will actually find this to be an interesting exercise in how we actually view things in the world and how we got to the place we have gotten to today. That no matter what ridiculous thing was attached to Trump everyone easily fell for it, and how anything equally ridiculous Biden might be accused of will be met with an equal amount of shaking heads.

What I was exploring in making this ridiculous accusation was how our friends on the left would react to a ridiculous accusation that was pointed at their guy, completely contrary to how they would have reacted to a ridiculous accusation pointed at Trump. So far it has proven quite revealing.

I’ve heard from the conspiracy theorists that Biden’s loyalty is with China, not Russia. But I do smell a rat. What normally happens when a war starts? The stock market tanks. What happened last week? The Dow lost over 800 points in the morning, then gained it all back AND THEN SOME in the afternoon. Say what? I’ve thought not so much that Putin is doing this for Biden, but to embarrass Biden. He knows from past experience (Crimea in 2014, when Biden was VP) that Joe isn’t going to do anything except look like Walter, that puppet of Jeff Dunham’s that Biden seems to be impersonating. Tr*mp said that this wouldn’t have happened on his watch, and he’s correct (even the left-wing press has said that). I don’t think Biden cares because the assumption is that Trump will be in prison by 2024 and won’t be running against him. But he’s gotta get past the midterms first, and this kind of inflation (7.1% in January alone) does NOT do any favors to the party in power. Since politicians run on an economic platform they will bear the brunt of the blame.

I love how, gas pricing are going up, we are enacting all these sanctions, while still writing checks to Russia for their gas, but not drilling our own. just beautiful
