Money Top Ten: Money (#6)

My apologies. As I say frequently, I just cannot be unpredictable all the time. There are songs that popped into many minds when I said I’d do a countdown of songs with “money” in the title, and this is definitely one of them. I guess the only surprise would have been if I’d left it off, right? Sing along. #6: Money - Pink Floyd So you have a guy who gave us one of the greatest guitar solos in history (the end of “Comfortably Numb”), and what do you remember on this song? The sax break. (Well that, and the cash register sound editing out the word bullsh*t in the “radio friendly” version.) Oh, well. It’s one of the most overplayed songs in FM rock radio history. When you don’t listen to that, however, you can appreciate hearing this much better than you could if it was on the radio and you’d think “Oh, man, didn’t they just play that an hour ago?” (Answer: probably. ) If you’re a heading to thd dark side of the moon, don’t forget your checkbook. Money Written by Roger Waters Recorded by Pink Floyd From Dark Side of the Moon, 1973 New car, caviar:

Yeah, I knew it'd end up on your list ....... of course in my mind it's #1 for any money songs. So they still play it on the radio? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ can you tell I don't listen to radio much?

Most of the music that plays in the restaurants I've been in here is Mexican and I personally don't like Mexican music so I tune it out.

@FourWalls I used to know virtually everthing in the top thirty from 1960 to about 1979 then everything got too complicated

Sorry, don't know this one. I think I was in my cave when Pink Floyd was popular although we do have The Wall album. Must be our son's.

@58lordstreet — so am I. Worse, I grew up on country music (Buck Owens, not that soft rock they call “country” today). That’s why my countdowns are all over the place.

Pink Floyd is one of my brothers favorite bands. I knew, or at least thought it would make your list.

This one sounds familiar. In addition to the other two I mentioned yesterday, there is also the theme song from the "Storage Wars" show...I'll have to see if any of these show up.

I Remember when "Dark Side of the Moon" came out. Every college/HS kid would be playing that LP, while smoking that silly stuff. The music became mesmerizing almost hypnotic Back then it wasn't too much "Money" to purchase the record. Nice pick and definitely one for the "Money" countdown! One could get "Comfortably Numb" just hearing it..

Yeah, I’m always amazed at how all these people got to be millionaires back in the 70s with $5 album prices, concert ticket prices, AND t-shirt prices!!!! All in all, it’s just another fabulous brick in Pink Floyd’s career wall!

I didn't think I knew this one until I listened to it. Definitely familiar from long ago.
