Personal Life or Wars: Downsides are also accompanied by upsides

I made this observation today. The current Ukraine war is set to test the economies of many nations. In India, we already see the Rupee deprecating against US Dollars. Plus International oil prices are seeing a spike which is going to hurt India a lot as most of the oil is imported here. That means big inflation. Plus we import a lot of Cooking oil from Ukraine. Yet in all this gloom, there is a likely increase in demand for Wheat from India as Wheat exports from Ukraine (World's Bread basket) and Russia drop. Similarly in personal life, second half of February saw me and my family members getting ill and in recovery mode. We had to spend a lot on medical expenses- consultations, medicines and some tests. However, as I was on a few days off, I got to see some movies which I enjoyed. Plus spend some more time here on Mylot which helped me get higher than expected earnings. All in all, when there are some downs, one needs to keep faith and see the upside as well. Foremost, prayers for the current conflict in Ukraine to end as war helps nobody- neither the one who loses more, nor the winner. Some news source from Times of India website.

@LadyDuck Well a region wide conflict like this is likely to have a big impact. A lot of it due to the Russian Prez's madness and not even paying heed to his own country people.

The rate of petrol and diesel will increase too much this time. I heard on the news that the rate of petrol may increase by 14 INR per liter. Let's see what happens.

@sjvg1976 Ideally the Central Government needs to cut some of the taxes on Petrol. The big question is whether they will have the room to do so?

That's so true about there being good and bad in every situation. It's hard to know sometimes what products will be impacted by the war.

@JudyEv Petrol (or Gasoline) prices seem to be going up in most of the places.

India may have to look to other sellers of such items and products. Glad you and your family are feeling better and that economics goes well for you all

@db20747 Economy is a mixed baggage. Petrol and Diesel prices have started increasing and so is the inflation. However, we are also expecting some moderating factors.
