In 1970 people favored quiche everywhere they could get this savory pie. The quiche made its first appearance in a magazine in 1941 in the US. The pie became first popular in the 1950s and people enjoyed it because at home it was a good way to use up leftovers. In the 1970s anything, French was considered to be chic and sophisticated. It could be found on most restaurant and catering menus. Time has passed but I can say that the quich is great to make when you don't want to fuss with dinner but want something delicious for everyone to enjoy, It can be paired with salads, Almost anything can be added when making a quiche and I once even invented a pizza quiche. These pies can be eaten hot or cold and are great to have around because everyone can just grab on to a slice and eat it as a snack.
In 1971 the quiche was replaced in favor by Eggs Benedict. However, this dish is not made at home but is mostly available in restaurants as part of a brunch menu. It is not difficult to prepare by taking an English muffin cut in two, each half topped by a slice of Canadian bacon, a poached egg and then topped by Hollandaise sauce. I would say that because of the traditional sauce this is a dish best left to brunches had on leisurely Sunday mornings in restaurants.
1972 gave rise to a drink named Tequila Sunrise. The popular cocktail is made with orange juice, tequila, and grenadine. Rolling Stone Mick Jagger first got a taste of it at The Trident, a San Francisco bar. The rest of the band enjoyed the drink so much that Keith Richards remarked that the tour they were on should be known as "the cocaine and Tequila Sunrise Tour." The following year the drink rose in popularity and The Eagles came out with the song "Tequila Sunrise." The song so inspired me that I wrote a poem titled the same.

I haven't even thought about quiche in years. I used to make them when Pretty was little because our lives were so busy I didn't have time to be choosy about things. I should dig the recipe back out and make that again. We loved it.

@RasmaSandra You can freeze the leftovers and have them for several months, a slice at a time, when you don't feel like cooking.

Different countries and different popular food. We never heard of Eggs Benedict in Italy, where I lived in the 70. The quiche has always been popular, well before the 70, particularly in France. I like Tequila Sunrise, I think that another popular for youngsters was a Shirley Temple.

@RasmaSandra - I remember because the first time we came to the United States, the daughter of our friends there ordered a Shirley Temple (that was unknown in Europe).
