A bus trip today - wineries and a nougat factory

Today, we went on a bus trip with others from our lifestyle village. We went to two wineries for wine-tasting and had lunch at the second one. From there, we went to a nougat and nut factory for more goodies. I don’t like nougat much but Vince bought some caramel-flavoured cashews which are pretty tasty and will make a great snack. The photo shows the outdoor area at the winery where we had lunch. It was too hot to sit outside but it would be a lovely area when it is just a bit cooler.

The bus is comfortable and the drive is really smooth. There are never any bumps or jerks.

I love those arbors like that. One time friend and I went on a river cruise which includeds lunch at a winery. It was a beautiful setting.

@JudyEv I really like them. I was considering putting one out of the deck at one time. I was looking up at the winery where we had lunch that one day, and thinking of including a couple of pics, but they said online their images had a copyright on them. I think when the weather gets a bit better maybe we will take a day trip..because not far from there you can get a tourist boat that will take you to an island in the Chesapeake Bay.

@JudyEv They can be quite fun those trips. Early in my working years I worked as the Activity Director at a home. I planned bus trips, they always included a nice meal, or sometimes a picnic. My favorite was to name it a Mystery Bus Tour, and provide the residents with a choice of 2 menus, which they could pre order and pre pay, thru me, and then it cut down on the wait time on our trip. The 'mystery' always had more and more sign up due to the intrigue.

It is nice to just sit on a bus and be chauffeured around. You don't have to worry about anything. I think I am getting used to it!!

@Juliaacv Mystery trips would be a great deal of fun. I wonder if they have them here. We mostly choose our menu in advance and have to pay in advance too.

@JudyEv We also have many places like this, with wisteria, the purple is the most common, but the house in front of ours has white wisteria.

Oh yes, that is very similar. This is our friend's arbour but they have moved now. We lived near each other near Donnybrook. The covering is wisteria.

By Judy Evans @JudyEv The caramel-flavored cashews sound interesting. I have only had regular cashews. I do not eat them now or any nuts. I looked up nugat and it looked pretty interesting to me. Not sure if I ever had it.

@JudyEv ok and I will not see it because will not be on the computer tomorrow. It is the Jewish Sabbath and I am not on the computer or listen to music or watch Netflix on our Sabbath. No phone also. I have to do things on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday is a very busy day so I will be here when can and may be without a computer from Tuesday afternoon for a little while and will be back when get it back.

oh yummy. Reminds me when John and I went to See's candy factory near Las Vegas. We bought so much candy and I tried so many samples I got a bit sick. Silly me. Those cashews sound so so good.

There is a chocolate factory nearby too. Maybe we'll get to that one day soon. I'd prefer that to nougat and nuts.

Yes, those are grapevines over the top. We had them at one house and it was lovely and cool to sit out under them.

Many of the wineries around here have similar areas. It so nice sitting outdoors.
