Gasoline Prices

As you are all well aware of we have rising gasoline prices which are at an all time high. I posted the other day about a slight decrease in the price in my little town. As of yesterday, the lower price of $3.97 was still up and valid. I stopped at the gas station on my way home from Baton Rouge yesterday and topped off my tank. The gas was still $3.97 instead of the $4.19 that it was just a few days before. I told my husband that the gas was still $3.97 in town and that is when he told me what the owner of the auto parts store told him Saturday morning. The owner of the gas station next door to the auto parts store was at the auto parts store on Friday and told the owner that the gas prices would not continue to go down. In fact, he told him that the gas price would be going back up this coming week. Or at least, they will be at his gas station. It will be interesting to see how high the price jumps back up and if all the gas stations in town will also go up. For those of you who also had a decrease in price last week, are the prices still going down? Or did they go back up again? Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

NO, here in Europe gas prices are only going up, as we import from Russia and they are increasing the price every day.

@kareng You have oil in your country, there is not oil in Europe, we have to import from Russia and the Saudi Arabia (allied with Russia).

It's based on the price of oil, and the demand for gas. Sadly, a lot of people are still driving older cars that run on gas. It wasn't until last year, Toyota decided to upgrade all their models to hybrids. So, we'll continue to see prices and demand jump around for years to come.

The price will be up again next week. People are not going to jump up and get electric cars. There are not enough charging stations. And what about at your home? Do you thing that will be affordable to the average person?

@kaylachan Gas prices here in US will continue to climb until we are 100% using our own oil and not buying from foreign countries. The tie was broken thank goodness but as long as the baboon is in office not telling when he will find another foreign source to buy from when we don't need it at all.

@kareng I know people aren't going to be jumping or chomping at the bit to buy eletric cars. I just meant, they're becoming more common. It'll be decades before gas powered cars are phased out completely. The adverage person hangs onto their car for as long as possible. ten to fifteen years. So, as long as the demand is there, gas prices will continue to climb. In fact, we bought a van used, six months ago which is gas-powered. And, we plan to hang onto it for at least fifteen years.

I have no idea. Hubs just took my sports car out to fill it and it was $4.699 per gallon for a total of $73.06 after a savings

That is crazy, isn't it? It will soon be $100 for most of us and even with a 16 gallon gas tank. So sad!!

On the way back up once again here. The time of year has a lot to do with it, or so I am told. Spring breakers and vacations are starting to happen. So the prices will be on the rise for many reasons.

Yes, but price gouging will be under a magnifying glass right now. And I hope those that do try it are caught and fined to the max.

It never went down here. Gas is at 4.89 a gallon here. It had been hovering around three bucks a gallon a little over a year ago. It has jumped from 4.49 to 4.89 in the past two weeks.

Yikes, you are close to $5 a gallon now. Glad we are not still working and filling up two tanks every week! I don't remember which state you are in?? I'm thinking CA?

@Vikingswest1 Yes! I feel for those with families and kids who need to buy a lot of groceries. And of course, gasoline for the cars to go to work. Their budgets must be busted wide open now.

@kareng Washington. I think the state has one of the highest fuel taxes in the US. Thank goodness I use only a few gallons a month. If I were still working, it would be tough. That added fuel cost is being felt in higher prices across the board.

I think they are going up everywhere, especially if oil is imported from Russia.
