We have had a very quiet and relaxing day today. We did sleep in but that was more because Duke was inside last night. I spent most of the day watching television, on myLot, and cooking. I put a pork loin in the slow cooker when I first got up. I seasoned it up and chopped up half of an onion and a tad bit of water to keep it from sticking. We had baked beans with it. Super simple and easy clean up! The other thing I cooked today was chicken and dumplings. I still have them simmering on the stove. Those all sound good. My husband cooked a catfish stew and I fried corn bread.

@kareng I fry a lot of cornbread, but I wish I could find a good gluten free baked cornbread recipe.

@kareng It's been halved and is in the freezer. We had steak instead. We don't often buy steak but this was on special and was really tender.

Me too a favorite that has stayed with me since I was a kid and all thanks to one of my grandmothers who made the very best homemade chicken and dumplings. She would always ask what we wanted to eat when we came to visit and mine choice was always chicken and dumplings!
