Scam Update

So I wrote a post about getting scammed recently. I bought an item in Fakebook Marketplace. I sent the money via GCash (payment platform app in the Philippines) and never got the item. When I called the phone number associated with the GCash account the owner of the GCash account said that they do not know the person and have nothing to do with the transaction. Furthermore, the owner of the GCash account said that this wasn't the first time it has happened, meaning someone has already used their account to scam others. Based on what the owner said, it was the same M.O. (modus operandi). I knew it was a dead end and I won't be seeing my money or the item that I had bought. I recommended to the owner to report the matter to GCash since it is her name and account. She said that she will and she will also look at CCTV footage to determine the person who got the funds based on the time stamp and their record books.
After that conversation, I had moved on.
Guess what? This morning, the owner of the GCash account called me and accused me of reporting their account which caused their account and funds to be frozen. I said i did no such thing. Of course, the owner did not believe me and made vile threats of reporting my GCash account. No amount of explanation would make her understand.
Seriously, what has the world come to? The victim is harassed nowadays while the criminal gets away scot free.

Do you know the saying "no good action will remain unpunished"? You did nothing and you were very kind and now they are accusing you. Well, they deserved to be reported. Inform GCash of what is going on. They have already been reported so they know that they are not honest.

@allen0187 I wish good luck in this matter. Those scammers are horrible, it's not enough for them to steal money, they also want to show up as honest people.

@RubyHawk the calls have stopped. I do not think they will continue. They have nothing to gain.

Oh that is no good. I know some scammer has partial information on me including my address, but luckily to the best of my knowledge they haven't figured out how to charge any accounts of mine.

Yes same over here the criminals no longer have any punishment at all at least around my way.
Car thefts here are highest in the nation and they are out the next day.

That is not good.
Good thing vigilantes are not taking things on their own and hunting these car thieves.

Hmmm. It sounds like the blaming game is one of their tactics to divert the already committed scam.

It wasn't GCash that scammed me, it was someone who is using GCash.
