What a number. Thirty two point one. That's my current body mass index according to that oversimplified measurement of height and weight. When I started Weight Watchers up again back in December my BMI was 36.2. Hooray!!!! Today I walked over two miles, which brings up another interesting statistic. (Mark Twain stated in one of his books, "There are are three types of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics"): my health monitor in my phone says I averaged walking 1.3 miles a day last year. That's nearly 475 miles for a year! No, I didn't, or I wouldn't have started out with a BMI of 36.2. The weather is yo-yoing like a Tommy Smothers routine (those of you not old enough to remember Tommy, whom I had a crush on when I was five or so when The Smothers Brothers Show [the sitcom, not the variety show] was on, will be educated by a video at the end ), but I have been able to walk outside a couple of days. The picture above was snapped (ha, taken on a cell phone) at a park in one of Louisville's suburbs, St. Matthews. There are a lot of Little League baseball fields around the park, and it's near a Best Buy (where I was pricing TVs), and it made for a lovely walk. Of course it's not "pretty" right now because there's still more winter than spring showing, but it is lovely to get outside. I had my semi-annual dental cleaning today. That comes with a covid test, which was negative. Tomorrow is a check-up with the psychologist, and then another early-rise (relatively speaking) appointment -- allergist (just in time for allergy season) -- on Thursday. Tonight I have to forego my Monday night weather geek watching of the taping of the WeatherBrains podcast to watch live coverage of tornadoes in Texas. I have a lot of friends there, and I pray they're all safe. Y'all have a great evening, okay??? The Smothers Brothers with "Yo Yo Man" (no relation to Yo-Yo Ma ):

My allergist appointment is on April 4th. I'm not allowed to have my allergy shot this month because of it so am not very happy right now. The allergies are killing me! Good luck with your appointment!

I'm not on shots right now, thankfully. The Zyrtec is basically taking care of everything. Plus, when it starts raining pollen I'll just leave town. I hope you can make it through everything. Only allergy sufferers can understand it fully.

@FourWalls Zyrtec doesn't do anything for me. Benadryl is all I've got that works. I've gone through a bottle of it this month. Thanks.

@DaddyEvil — my body is addicted to Zyrtec. The last time I had to go off it for allergy tests I felt like I’d been thrown into a vat of prickly heat, as badly as I was itching. And the over-the-counter Benadryl cream did nothing for me. They had to give me a prescription to get me through the week.

The Smothers Brotbers. Gosh haven't thought about the in ages but did love them back in the day. Glad your appointment went well and negative covid. Yay for you reducing your BMI. Awesome Those tornadoes that went through Texas were horrible. Hope your friends are all okay

I remember Tommy well. Lovely photo there Four Walls. Big congrats on the body mass number too. You sure do get good medical care I have to say. I am sorely lacking for that.

Thanks. The treatment comes from the VA. They’re being good right now.

Hope everyone was safe. You could have walked that much as it counts when you have your phone with you even going room to room.

I’ve put a mile or so on the phone pedometer walking from the house to the garage when I’ve been cleaning the car out.

Congrats on the weight loss. It's unusual to get a COVID-19 test with a dental appointment. That storm system that is making its way across the US is very lethal. They are expecting more tornadoes tonight. I hope everyone remains safe. I remember the Smothers Brothers very well as I'm much older than you are! :-)

That’s a VA thing, they test people before the appointment because the exam rooms are small and you can’t wear a mask while getting your teeth cleaned.

A covid test with your dental cleaning? That is a new one. Walks are nice, I got in a short one yesterday. I hope the weather is not too bad.

The VA does that. I don’t know if private dentists do it or not, but it’s a VA rule. They made my September cleaning appointment with the stipulation that I call to see if they’re still requiring covid tests.

Meh. I realize they have to change it every few years to keep their “secret” but I don’t like how fruit was zero points last time I was a member and now it’s back to being points food. But overall, as long as I lose weight I’m okay.

Good stuff a dental cleaning and a covid test. Glad you all good. I hope your friends in Texas are safe, seems like tornado season is getting longer and longer.

Hmm... I don't have any such monitor, but reading your post now makes me wonder... When manning my little store, it usually entails walking to and fro most of the time - entertaining customers at the window, getting them what they ask for, walking to the cash box to get their change and give it to them... wash, rinse, repeat. I wonder how many miles a day that amounts to. Lol!

I wish we had been given pedometers in boot camp. It really would have been interesting to see how far we marched/ran in a day.

I remember the television show of the brothers that played on the Southern Command Network (SCN) in the former Canal Zone in Panama. Those were the good old days of prime time entertainment.
