Those Old Brands

I just saw a commercial for Doan's "Little Liver Pills". I remembered them from my childhood. My mom used to use them when I was a preschooler. They've been around for over 100 years. Then it started me thinking about other brands I recalled that had been around for years. I thought about Alka-Seltzer. My grandmother used it when I was a preschooler. Loved the bubbles and they helped my bellyache. Then I thought about A&W Rootbeer. We used to get a gallon of that tasty beverage. We had an A&W just a few blocks away from us. We've drunk it up and get a quarter for bringing the gallon jug back and getting a refill. Do you remember any of these?

I'm a Senior citizen, remember them all. I just found French Burnt Peanuts at Safeway, couldn't resist it, but unfortunately teeth not young...my denture grumbled. Now looking for Boston Peanuts.

@celticeagle Rootbeer is an only American thing, the only product we have also here in Europe is Alka-Selzter.

All three of them are still around. I didn't know about Doan's either until I saw the commercial.

I don't know anyone who takes the Doan's pills, but they still do make them.

I hadn't seen this post and I made one awhile ago about nostalgic commercials. I remember the brands. Carter's Litte Liver Pills, which were in reality a laxative. Then they changed the name and left out the liver part. There was even a saying that people used to describe things, like ''you make more messes than Carter has liver pills!''
