A while ago you were asked if you liked Elton John; and now it's time to bring you 10 Elton John songs. They are presented in no particular order:
"Bennie and the Jets" was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin and was released in 1973. It was a huge hit in the United States and Canada.
Bennie and the Jets is a fictional band in the song; and the singer is a fan. Taupin said that the lyrics are a satire on the greed and glitz of the music industry of the 70s. Taupin also alludes to John's flashy costumes in the lyrics: "She's got electric boots, a mohair suit...".
The song placed #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the US Cash Box Top 100 and #15 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (Billboard).

I wanted to go to the concert in Cleveland; but it's too hard for me to walk or get pushed around in a wheelchair.

Elton fits in perfectly with the flamboyant glam rockers of the 70's. His outfits became more and more outrageous over time until finally he dressed up as a duck to perform in concert

Not a favorite EJ song. But one of those “misheard lyrics” classics. Yes, folks, he’s saying electric BOOTS.

Elton John was one of the greatest entertainers in my era. I never heard any songs that were bad when he did perform them. I watched the movie years ago about his life. It was very interesting.
He can sing anything from rock to very soothing songs. I don't think we will ever see another singer so great.

I enjoyed Elton's music when in my teens but really became a fan after my first college roommate, who was a HUGE FAN turned me on to some of his lesser-known music that didn't get as much radio airplay. "Your Song" was the one that turned me from an occasional listener into a real fan.

yes I liked this one ...it was an unexpected follow up to his previous songs, so we knew eh would be around for a while .Other people who have had hits followed it up with something virtually the same
