Calendar Says May but still looks like April (with showers)

Happy Monday and Happy May! if you look outside my window you would think it's still April because it's raining. However May has arrived and with it comes a busy month ahead for me.
Yesterday was my Uncles 90th birthday. I sent him a card and called him yesterday to wish him a happy birthday. He was having a quiet celebration with his family and grandkids. Two weeks ago I sent him a birthday gift of cookies which I know he'll love since he has a sweet tooth. However, the gift is still stuck somewhere and hasn't been delivered yet. It was supposed to get there in time for his birthday but hasn't so now I'm frustrated.
I also have to put a birthday card in the mail today for my friends birthday and I probably should have mailed it sooner giving the fact that the mail is so unpredictable.
May will be a busy month for me with birthdays. In addition to my uncle and my friend it's my middle daughter, my youngest daughter and my grandson, plus Sunday is Mothers Day which I'm excited about.
My youngest daughter was actually born on Mothers Day and my grandson was also born on Mothers Day. This year neither of their birthdays fall on Mothers Day.
Today is a crazy day here. My lights keep flickering and it's weird since the weather isn't stormy or looking like anything that would interrupt the power/internet. Just a little rain and hardly any wind
Hopefully we won't have a full blown power outage which would really stink.

It's 50F and raining here, too. (We won't make it to the predicted 65F today. It's been 50F since 6 am and the thermometer hasn't budged.)
My BP is still low and my tummy is still upset this morning. I have to take Pretty to see her doctor this afternoon but otherwise will stay in bed today.
I hope your day gets better and you don't have a power outage.

@Marilynda1225 Thanks. It's finally up to 120/80, which is what the doctor wants it to read. The problem is that my "normal" blood pressure without meds is 190/150 and it's been three days since I've needed to take meds to bring it down. I think something is really wrong. (My doctor is in the hospital again. She has cancer. So I don't have anyone to mention it to right now.)

@DaddyEvil BP certainly is tricky isn't it. Wow your BP certainly is high without meds.
Sorry to hear about your doctor but doesn't she have someone covering for her while she's in the hospital so you could figure out what's going on with you? Unless of course you don't want to see another doctor.

Never think about rain in the Caribbean. Always figure it's aways gorgeous but of course that wouldn't be practical

About as usual...bright and sunny here although possibly rain tomorrow and for sure on Wednesday as a cold front comes in.

Happy belated and early birthdays to your uncle, friend, daughters, and grandson! And happy early Mother's Day to you!
I may have mentioned this to you before, but I have forgotten, so forgive me if I have. My birthday is on a Friday this year, but I was born six hours after Mother's Day, and Mom always said I was still her Mother's Day baby. She is gone now. But I will always have the memories of our 52 years together.

You can still be part of the MOthers Day birthday club even if you arrived a few hours late. My daughter tells me every year that she was the best Mothers Day gift I ever got.

I remember way back in October or so the weather people telling us it was going to be a long winter. It wasn't a particularly harsh winter, but has been long. Gray and rainy here today as well.
All members of our family were born around holidays. My husband's birthday is this Saturday so he is a Mother's Day baby. My oldest daughter was born ON Good Friday the year she was born (Easter always shifts so her birthday isn't always on Easter weekend). My younger daughter was born the day after a Civic Holiday (the first Monday in August). And my birthday is the day before Halloween. It's kind of weird when you think about it.

Wow that's a lot of birthdays falling on or around a special date. It seems weird but maybe it's more common than we think. My granddaughter was born on my sons birthday which also happened to be my uncles birthday.

Today would have been my Dad's birthday.
He would have been 86 years old today.
Its a special day for me as I love to think of him I have so many sweet and fond memories.
Its a cool and overcast day here today, I wonder what time of the year it is when I look outside.

@Marilynda1225 We are both very lucky ladies to have had such wonderful Dads, and to have those precious memories of them.
My hubby has alot of the same fine qualities that my Dad had, I am lucky to have him so much like he was. His own Dad passed when he was just a teenager, so my Dad was a step in Dad to my hubby as well, and I suppose that is why they were so much alike. And they really were, sometimes it would make me laugh because he knew him alot less time then my brothers, and yet they had more in common then all 3 of my brothers put together. Funny how that happens.
