Michael Jackson is now following me on Instagram

That's the IG notification I got on my phone.
I guess MJ came back from the dead and was curious to see what I've been up to. 
I didn't even bother to look at MJ's profile, who ever the hack that person actually is, and what he posts.
Not interested in the least.
I think recently I've had a notification that Gordon Ramsay is now following me on Instagram.
I got excited there for a second, except it wasn't the Gordon Ramsay.
I would have loved it if he actually followed me...
Why do people do such a thing?
Create profiles/accounts posing as famous people or even any other people out there.
And why is that even allowed?
I didn't even bother to look at MJ's profile, who ever the hack that person actually is, and what he posts.

Those sites dont monitor that garbage ..those fake profiles.

I’d think Michael Jackson is not an uncommon name. Many probably have it. This guy’s picture was not of the Thriller singer. Maybe he is also Michael Jackson.

If someone follows me on Instagram I can’t do anything about that because I have a public profile.

They do that to scam people. I get those same type of requests practically every day. I always delete them.

Well, if someone follows you on Instagram, you can't do anything about that. It's not like a friend request on Facebook that you can choose not to accept.

@lovebuglena I have set my profile to private on Instagram. I have to accept or reject friend requests. It is better that way.

@lovebuglena Sure, but those people also use an avatar to make the others think that they are the famous person.

The only time I really pay attention to someone following me is if a Trooper pulls in behind me on the freeway.
Some people get pleasure from tricking others. I don't know why SM sites even allow fake profiles.

At other sites, I didn't pay attention to followers or random friend requests.
If someone follows me here at MyLot, I automatically follow back as a courtesy.

I don't really pay attention to who follows me either but IG sends me notifications. When someone follows me I get notified.

I don't know why it's allowed; but there are a ton of people that take on a celebrity's name.

This guy’s picture was not of the real MJ. Maybe this guy just has the same name as him. It’s possible.

I checked my Instagram followers and the picture next to Michael Jackson is not of the real MJ. Maybe this person is actually also named Michael Jackson though. Could be many people with that full name out there. Didn't bother to actually go into the profile.
