Bubblews Still Pays Me Around $270 Per Year

I talk all the time around here about every penny mattering. "Money makes money," you hear me say over and over again. I have also said many times that sites like MyLot and ones we are all familiar with from the past come and go. Luckily MyLot is still here and going strong and hopefully it stays that way for a long time to come. Either way, it may not be. The thing is, I consider any money I make from any of my online efforts to be "money I would not have ever otherwise earned," and for me that simply means I want it to mean something. The time vs. pay thing obviously does not work out. It's always a lot of time for very little money. For that reason spending it just seems pointless to me and always has. As with most money, I'd rather spend the proceeds than spend the principal. So from all of the websites I have ever messed around with over the years; HubPages, WebAnswers, Daily Two Cents, Niume, Blogspot and Bubblews—all of them still pay me since all of the money I ever earned with any of them was invested. One might say, "What's the point of earning the money if you can't spend it?" Again, I prefer to spend the proceeds than spend the principal. And the dividends I get on an annual basis tends to be a bit over $2,000 a year. Keep in mind that between Bubblews and WebAnswers back in the day one could make hundreds of dollars per month. In fact, WebAnswers, because it was tied to Adsense, was probably the most money I ever made from one site. It was massive. Bubblews was a close second, easily raking in $80-$150 a month, and the portion of the dividends received from Bubblews is around $270 per year. Obviously what I do here on MyLot just adds to the pile and adds to the dividends. And part of the point is that what I now make in dividends on an annual basis far exceeds what I make in a year from the sites themselves that I am still active on. It is simply one more thing to consider when you think about ways to make this little online thing we do actually help get just a little farther up on the financial ladder. Every penny counts. But only if you put them in places where it really matters.

I don't remember you over there either. But then there were a lot of people over there. I was there almost from start to end. I went by the same name. I was more active there than here as well.

I agree that every penny counts. But it is different in how is it that we spend them. I lent the money I got from my mother´s inheritance to my daughters and they pay me dividends. Mylot´s money is saved for holidays. I quit smoking to pay for an air fare every year. And so on.

I like how disciplined you are. I have learned from your last posts that you will be using myLot earnings for holidays. I would say I would use it for this or that but it keeps changing.

I was just suggesting one can earn enough over time and have plenty of proceeds to spend even more than what they earn today. Even if I earned $10 a month here it is only $120. But the dividends I get on money already earned over time pays me $2000 a year. I can do a lot more with $2000 than I can with $120.

That's smart. It's good you're still earning where you can.

@kaylachan That's it exactly. Besides, if you ARE still working and making good money, it all just becomes gravy.

@Shavkat The site and its creators will forever live in infamy. It's unfortunate really. I have to think that they KNEW the model was not going to work. But I still think Arvind and Jason thought somehow they'd be the next Facebook or Twitter and things would just eventually fix themselves. I know I wrote several posts saying to certain people that were talking about making a living out of it—this bubble will burst. It can't possibly last. I was chided for saying that. But of course I turned out to be right.

I think when I left there they still owed me somewhere around $80. I have since written that off.

It did to me at the time and it does to me now. But then I have always been an investor, so it just made sense to me to invest that money as well.

That' amazing that you're getting dividends on your investments from onsite earnings. Pretty smart to invest it all

I have always viewed money as something for the future instead of something for the present. Earn a paycheck and spend it all I am always going to need a paycheck. But save and invest some of it and one day I won't need the paycheck anymore.

It's crazy how similar you and I are. I know that in and of itself my online earnings are not going to make me rich overnight, but by saving and investing those pennies, it will make me money over the long run. I've always deposited my online earnings into a separate account from everything else and then used that money to invest. To me, it's a no-brainer, and the most effective way to use that small stream of income to my advantage.

Great minds think alike? lol. Right there with you. A paycheck, or any money we get for that matter, is not all for today. Some of it is for tomorrow. I would much rather spend the proceeds than the principal.

I was there and I remember you, both. As well as, Jabo and OceanTiara. Unfortunately, I don't remember my username at Bubblews.LOL!

That was going to be my next question—what your name was. I KIND OF remember OceanTiara over there. Jabo for sure I remember. Actually, I would like to know who WAS over there, sort of jog my memory. I guess I can write a post and see who responds.

It's unfortunate that these sites did not survive. How come Bubblews is still paying you? I remember how fun it was on Webanswers. It was surprising that the site couldn't sustain too.

@ihasaquestion Well, it is not the site itself that pays me. It's the dividends I get from the money they paid me that earns interest. I never spent the money. I invested it.
