Baseball in the US dates back to the 18th century when amateurs played a baseball-like game using their own rules and homemade equipment. Amateur men's ball clubs were formed in the 1830s-1850s, semi-professional in the 1860s; and the first professional leagues were formed in the 1870s after the Civil War. I am not a big fan of baseball. I remember as a kid my parents taking me to double-headers in Cleveland to see the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians). We sat out in the sun for hours and hours; and I found the game to be quite boring. I had my ice cream bar and orange juice in its cone-shaped container. I removed the other end of the container and made a megaphone out of it. I would cheer when everyone else cheered and boo whenever everyone else booed! Do you like baseball? Photo Credit: Pixabay.
