Have you ever heard about optavia?

They have meal plans to promote healthy eating. Most people do a five and one plan which consists of a lean and green meal and five fuelings which are purchased from optavia. My daughter started the program in January and has lost sixty pounds, her husband seventy. My husband needs to lose weight too but he's in insulin. So he's doing a four and two and one plan. He gets two lean and green meals, four fuelings and a snack which can be a small amount of fruit along with other things. I'm eating the lean and green meals with him and making most of them this week. I could stand to lose a bit of weight but I already lost a decent amount doing keto. I planned on showing our meals for today. But I couldn't get my collage to load so I include only the meal for supper. We had -6oz of hamburger for lunch minus the bun. We got to add some low fat cheese since the hamburger was less than six ounces. I made zucchini and summer squash in the air fryer but I could have cooked it longer. For supper we had mini peppers nachos. It has a filling of chunk chicken, avocado, Greek yogurt, and it called for a jalapeno pepper but I used a pablano instead. A serving size was 12 peppers. My husband didn't quite like that meal but he was satisfied with six. I ate mine. I don't think I'll make it again but I'll eat the leftovers You also drink lots of water. The goal is that you eat healthy the rest of your life. When you've reached your goal weight you can then eat three lean and green meals and three fuelings. The fuelings are designed to keep your metabolism going and your blood sugars at an even keel.

I like small peppers, I feel them with tuna mixed to a little bit of mayonnaise. I do not follow diets, but we eat healthy all the time

My husband will have tuna one day. I hadn't thought of using the peppers for that instead of bread. I think he'd like that.

@LadyDuck that's something my husband can put together for himself when I'm not home.

I never heard of this weight loss plan but that's amazing that your daughter and son in law have lost that much weight. Hope it's successful for you and your husband

@MarshaMusselman I'm sure if you do it with him and follow the guidelines it will work. I guess it would be expensive to buy what's needed for two people.

I'm not doing the whole plan yet as I didn't buy the fuelings. I should have but didn't want to spend the money and my husband needs to lose more than I do. Hopefully if I eat the lean and green meals that will make enough of a difference for my goals.

@Marilynda1225 he's already lost a bit of his tummy. The rest might go a bit slower but he's only half way through his first week so it's early. We heard men trend to lose faster than women and he's given up his carb snacks, his salty snacks and his pop so it might come off fast for awhile.

I haven't heard of this type of diet but it sounds very interesting.

We will have to see how it goes. I'm not prepared to do the whole diet with him since I didn't order fuelings for myself. Looking back I should have done so since they were on sale. Hopefully just eating more veggies will improve my diet.

@JudyEv my husband can't remember that term either. I guess it's because with their mini meals like shakes, brownies and other types of snacks they all are vitamin fortified and have probiotics and help keep ones metabolism going. That way your not tempted to eat off the plan.

I haven't heard of that plan. Your daughter and son in law have done amazing. Pepper nachos is a recipe I got from Weight Watchers. One of my favourites.

My husband didn't like it at all. I ate most of mine and had a few for something to eat for breakfast today. I'll be eating the leftovers but if I make it again I might want a slightly different recipe. It also gave me a bit of heartburn making it hard to sleep.

@MarshaMusselman Easy to change how you season the meat so you like it. I pile on so many toppings, corn, black beans, salsa, etc.

It was an interesting mixture. My husband doesn't like cottage cheese and yogurt so I wonder if the yogurt was what he didn't like even though he didn't know it was part of the recipe.

@MarshaMusselman He probably didn’t know the difference. Most men don’t.

Sounds like one of the better diet plans I have ever heard of.

It's been around for a long time. I just hope I can either find some good recipes we both will like or maybe I can learn how to make up my own recipes. My daughter has salads almost every night with whatever lean/ protein they have but while I can eat a salad every day my husband cannot since he's in blood thinners and salads thicken the blood. He can have a salad weekly. Or broccoli, or asparagus. There are others in the list but some hell never eat.
