My Magic Bed

No, it doesn't have a hot guy included. (Darn! LOL)
My kids heard me talking about my sad and sorry bed one day when we were discussing furniture. One of my daughter's had purchased a mattress during the height of the pandemic, and she ordered it online. They come in a big box, I swear it looked like a coffin, but thankfully it was not. Unknown to me, they ordered me one and just said, mom, something will be delivered for you, watch for it.
So, I got this big blue box that said Nectar. It is a really, really nice mattress! They come rolled up so tightly it's unreal. They are packaged with miles of super thick plastic sheeting you have to cut through carefully so as not to damage the new mattress. In all honesty, that was the hardest part. Then with the last snip, the mattress unrolls itself. You are supposed to let it 'rise' for like overnight to 24 hours. I also got pillows wrapped up in the same kind of plastic that expanded when I opened them. Anyway, the entire thing was ready to sleep on last night, and it was SO wonderful! I had slept on the one at my daughter's and I knew it would be so comfortable. My other bed was so soft to lie on, and hurt my back terribly. And, it was clean still but it was old, for sure. I was glad to get the bed, so nice of them!
I am not a person to covet new furniture, although I do have to say I love my new couch a lot. I take care of my items to try to make them last as long as possible, but the couch and the bed were really old and needed to be replaced. I am thrilled a couch 2 weeks ago, and a bed this week. I feel like a princess! Yay!
I don't know what I ever did to deserve the kids I have, I really don't. I know others brag on their offspring and it's OK...it's wonderful to know we raised some special humans!
No backache this morning, either. A big win, for sure.

How wonderful that you got such a good nights sleep on your new mattress. That was super nice of your children to get you that new mattress. My granddaughter got one of those types for her college apartment and it's amazing how it comes in such a small box and unrolls into a full size.

I knew the old one was tired and soft, but I didn't know how much it made me ache until I got the new one. And yes, it was amazing to watch it. Mine is so firm and nice, came with high end sheets and pillows and a mattress cover. I'm a happy mama! And yes, it was so nice of them. They surprise me all the time and it's a wonderful thing.

That's great that it helped your back so easily. We need a new mattress too and maybe a new frame. I ordered a memory mattress that came rolled up in a similar fashion but that was years ago already. My back hurts from various thing not only the bed but I'm sure a new one would help a lot

I was truly surprised just how comfortable this mattress is. I may have to spend a day in there just lolling around...pretty tempting!

Having a good mattress really makes a difference! I can sleep on rocks, but Hubby cannot . . . having a better mattress helped his back tons.
You raised your kids right and still take great care of them. And now they do the same for their sweet mom
. As they say, the apple does not fall far from the tree

@MarieCoyle - I fully agree, it is heavy, but easier to move around. It was a pain when they delivered our new mattress.

@LadyDuck
My son made the comment that after they watched me, and then my oldest daughter, shop for a new couch that could actually be delivered in under 6-9 months, they thought the delivery option and just online ordering it would be the best right now. They were correct!

In retrospect, it's still easier than actual shopping for one, arranging delivery ( a nightmare right now, has been for a while, due to lack of drivers, etc.) and being at the mercy of the delivery person. This way I knew just when it would arrive and I was ready for it.

I have buying a new mattress on my agenda for this month. I am also getting a wooden frame and getting rid of the box springs. Enjoy your new mattress!

That's great. I git a new mattress for my daybed and I loved it. But right now I have been sleeping in my uncle's bed and I think I may end up getting a new mattress for it.
