I Wrecked That

This morning I went to get blood drawn at my doctor's office. I had to fast beforehand, so afterwards I was very hungry. Burger King was nearby so I stopped there, and as I exited, boom. Apparently, I pulled out in front of someone. I looked both ways, but somehow I missed seeing this man, and we had a wreck. Both he and I are fine. I have never been in a wreck that was my fault. My dad assured me it happens to almost everyone, and what's most important is no one was hurt (neither of us were moving fast at all). My car is not driveable though, as you can see. I'll be borrowing my dad's until I can get this mess fixed. I was bummed about the ticket.
Have you ever been at fault for a wreck? The last one I was in was at age 18, but the other person was at fault. I'm a good driver, but now I feel nervous to drive.

Sorry it had to happen to you and glad you are all right, As your dad says it happens, I only had my bumper bumped once when I lived in NYC and there was not damage. That time it was the other guys fault, We were all slowly getting onto the highway and while I was standing on the break I looked in the rear view mirror and thought Why is that guy coming so fast? I soon found out .

You may have been less alert because of hunger/fasting. I always take a healthy snack in the car with me so I can eat when done. I am so sorry about the car and that you have to deal with this but I am thankful both of you are not hurt.

I am very sorry for your accident, I hope that you will be alright emotionally.
Your Dad is great to let you borrow his vehicle.
I had an accident when I was about 17 years old.
I was driving down a 4-lane street when a van backed out of a driveway and hit the back side of my Dad's car.
I was not charged, he was because at that time (not sure about today) it was illegal to back out onto a 4-lane street.
One of the police officers took my Dad aside and told him that I was so traumatized and upset that he suggested that my Dad really work on me to drive again. I remember being so distraught and frightened.

It does happen to everyone that drives. I’ve never driven, because I’m legally blind.

@AmbiePam Glasses don’t help with my main eye condition, but as I aged and lost more vision reading glasses help some. I have three different strengths to use depending on what I need them for. It’s odd that different tasks require a different strength. I also use a magnifier.

Good thing nothing serious happened to both of you. I have never been in a wreck because I don't drive.

Thank goodness you and the other person were not hurt! Believe me, I know the feeling about being nervous to drive after that. I was in 2 accidents before the pandemic, just a year apart - with both I was not at fault, but one was way worse than the other.

When I was 20 I was at fault. I learned a lesson with that.

I've learned to look both ways twice because sometimes cars are hidden behind the panel on the car between the windshield and driver's window. I almost hit a car for that reason before.
Last year my husband pulled out of MacDonald's and was hit for the same reason. He had checked first too.

Yes, when I first started driving I wrecked a van. It was a work van too, and I was terrified I would be fired, but fortunately, I was not.

Oh dear, your poor car. But so thankful neither of you were hurt.
