Good day to you all, Just two days to go till the weekend. I’m pretty happy about that. Even though the week was short it’s been a long week already. Working my butt off this week to try to catch up from the day off on Monday. So, we were told the big boss is coming in tomorrow to talk to us about how things when with our replacement manager while ours was out on medical leave. Everyone is saying how they are going to rip into her. All I can think is it was his choice to put her in as the replacement so tearing into her to much is reflecting on him so I think I will nod and smile a lot. Not to sure how much I want to say, though I have lots of complaints she is gone now and in the past. No need to make myself look bad to the big boss by ripping on his choice for the temp fill in. At least it cooled down around here the temperature is 14 degrees cooler than it was yesterday but still kind of warm. It didn’t cool down any in our building at work so that was not good. They are saying cooler temperatures for the next few days. I will take that for sure. Time to make something for dinner, hope you all have a good night.

As workers we of course do not get to choose the boss, that's up to management. I remember when I was in management we always looked at "next in line," and you would be surprised about some of the criteria we looked at—even if it makes a lot of sense in the end. A boss has only one job and that is to get the job done. But of course there needs to be SOME decorum because at the end of the day the workers will decide if they will do it or not, and to what degree, and in what quality manner and speed.

So true, I would be willing to guess if this one was going to be long term at least a few of us would have quit. I know I would have, but I just kept telling myself it's just temp situation.

@Bensen32 All that said, some people are not cut out to be bosses of anything. Hopefully it all works out overall.

Sometimes, it's hard to really say what you want without getting into trouble.

It's nice you're going to have some cooler days. It's partly could, but supposed to be a lot hotter tomorrow. Not looking forward to that.

Smiling and nodding will be the right attitude. No need to say too much, better to keep a low profile... you never know!

We had an awesome team when I was at HD, so when our sup got promoted, our DM said she was going to take her time filling the role so she could find the best possible candidate. She said our team was so good with self-initiative and work ethic that she didn't need to appoint a temp sup until a permanent one could be found. That made us super happy, because we didn't want a fill-in manager while they were trying to hire a permanent one. In the end, we ended up going 6 months without a sup, and during that entire time our team didn't miss a beat. We ended up getting a really good sup that transferred to our store from a store down in Miami.

That would have been nice but didn't happen even though our team has been #1 or 2 at least since I started there.
