Today is my marriage anniversary.

Many years ago I met a girl named Rumi Chatterji. She lived in Nagpur in Maharashtra, the same city from where my mother originated from. Then I got married by arranged hindu rituals. Days passed, years passed, the two sons gradually entered childhood, my tastes and my wife's thinking blended into one. Now after some years I find that there is no difference in both of our likings, interests, food habits, none of us sacrificed our own likings for the other. But by God's grace we could successfully live as a team and will continue to do so with the blessings of my mother.

thanks Ocean this photo was taken more than 10 years back. Yes it was my father. He expired few years ago. But my mother is still alive and lives with me my wife and two sons

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. We attended a Hindu wedding in Nepal and learnt more about arranged marriages. Mostly, they seem to be very successful. I hope you have many more happy years together.

@sathviksouvik Our good friend in Nepal said much the same but used 'compromise' as a key word. Both partners had to compromise in some areas.

@JudyEv thanks Judy when children grow the greatest duty of the parents are towards their propagation. So family is everything about teamwork, no one can say one is more superior to the other. Rather one is made for the other

thanks Judy actually whether love before marriage or after marriage end of the day the husband and wife has to love each other for the entire life. In Hindu culture we very seldom have divorces. Some understanding is required from both sides
