Rainy Season, started or not?

On Friday we had High School graduation (the rest of us still have classes for another week) and true to form we had a thunderstorm. Often that marks the beginning of the official rainy season.
Saturday and Sunday were nice, but today it's going to pour all day and looks cloudy/rainy for the rest of the week. If it is the rainy season, it will be that way until July 15 or so.
What seasons do you have in your place? Japan has spring, rainy, summer, typhoon/autumn, winter.

Now that we have been in hot summer since the second week of the "rainy season" and then after a month of heat and dry we got a week of rain, I'm having trouble knowing what season I'm in!

Spring, summer, fall and winter. Meterologically we are spring until June 20 at the solstice. However, we call our seasons also by the calendar, less formally. According to that tradition Summer starts in June. We are often rainy in May and June, also in September and October. However you can never be sure. Actually we are having a lot of rain right now ourselves.

We have four seasons here. It will continue raining until the middle of June than there will be no more rain until September.

Right now the tropical heat is back in Florida and it counts as hurricane season
