According to the radiologist Bob has an infection in his pelvic bone. Maybe an abscess as well.
We saw a new doctor who was covering urgent care today. I believe he is fairly new as a doctor. He is quite concerned and is working toward getting an MRI for Bob, as well as finding a large hospital that has a bed available for him.
The treatment will likely involve IV antibiotics, possibly a biopsy. Maybe surgery.
The pain he has been having for a long time was something that was thought to be a pulled muscle. He even had physical therapy for it. Today he got up and had swelling. He thought he had maybe a blood vessel ready to burst.
Now we have some answers and even more questions.

The doctor he saw, Dr. Weir, has talked to an osteopathic surgeon who says it is not an emergency, but do get an MRI. Dr. Weir is working on that.

Oh, I’m so sorry. I hate it when you go to the doctor and they give you 40 things it could be (and don’t eliminate any of them), then say, “Come back in two months. I hope they can find out what the problem is quickly and deal with it. Prayers for you both.

I hope the new treatment works well. I have a lot of faith in antibiotics.

At least they are still able to do something for him, which is important.
