I had three needles yesterday - I hope the wine won't leak out

My husband and I both went to the doctor’s today to get our second covid booster. I also got a flu shot and a needle in the tummy to help offset the advancement of osteoporosis (hollow, brittle bones). This is a new doctor to us but Vince feels very comfortable with him. He never rushes him, explains everything well and they share a love of music. The doctor sings in a men’s group, the Shantymen, and will be going to Tasmania shortly to perform at the ‘Wooden Boats’ festival that they have there. He is a bit unconventional and may wear flowery trousers. He has ear-rings, a full and very long beard and yesterday was wearing socks with corgi dogs on them. He made fun of Vince’s red shoes once. Vince’s stock answer to anyone who comments on his red shoes, is that if red shoes are good enough for Frank (Pope Francis) they're good enough for him. He then pointed out that the doctor was wearing socks with bananas on them! I hope your doctor is as obliging as ours. In the photo, Vince’s shoes are on the left.

Vince's previous doctor was a wonderful man too and we were a bit anxious about finding someone somewhat similar.

Are covid numbers high in your area? They seem to have stabilised a little here.

@changjiangzhibin89 That's good to know. People now just seem to accept that eventually everyone will get covid. Unfortunately, while most recover, not all do.

With all of those shots you should be good for another 50 or 60 years Judy. Just in case you spring a leak, you should have a bit more.

Oh I would love a doctor like him! Most of our doctors are cut and dried. There is in gastroenterologist that is a riot. Always wears a bow tie. My brother can always get a rise out of him and they always have a good laugh. I have a pair of hot pink and a pair of purple sneakers. I get a lot of compliments on them. Why wear boring shoes when there are so many colors and patterns?

I like the red shoes, searchers cannot miss him should he got lost. My doctor is very nice, we discuss, he always ask my opinion before telling me HIS opinion about what is my (or my husband problem). He is surprised that I always know.

what an interesting doctor. I would take one in any form, earring, beard, crazy socks, as long as he listens and doesn't act like everybody is stupid. I get very irritated with some doctors. I have had more than my fair share of them, with my special needs son. Most of ours have the idea, if you do not listen to them, you are stupid, your questions are stupid. My tolerance for such, is pretty low now days.

It can be hard to find a good one. The first one Vince went to when we moved to the city gave him 10 minutes then told him to make another appointment if he needed more time. Honestly, what sort of a doctor does that? To be fair, he is governed by the practice he belongs to and it probably has something to do with Medicare.

Yay for you for getting booster #2. Both Momma and I have done that, too. I'm happy you found a Dr. you're comfortable with. He sounds like a fun person, too. I really like my current Dr. - she's very nice and tell Vince I love his shoes and fully approve

Vince read somewhere that those with two jabs and one booster are over-represented in hospital admissions. I'm glad we've got ours now and can forget about it for a while at least. We'll still be wearing masks when we go out.

When I got my first booster shot, I also got a flu shot. Two for the price of one! Fortunately, I have insurance which covered them. With two painful arms I did find it tough to find a comfortable sleeping position, ouch. lol. Red shoes hey, Dorothy of Oz would love a pair

Some places wouldn't give the flu shot with the first booster. It's all been free here, probably free flu shots because of our age. I love red shoes. One day I'll have another pair. I wore my first ones out.
