World War III?

We all hoped that the war between Russia and Ukraine would be over by now. Instead thousands are dead and the war rages on. On February 27, 2022, Vladimir Putin made nuclear bomb threats. Experts say that if the United States is made a target he could hit such cities as Washington DC, San Francisco, Chicago, Houston, Los Angelos, or New York City. All countries are on alert that if he sends a nuclear bomb in a region that is part of NATO we will face World War III. What are your thoughts on this issue?

@MALUSE You are right, he is not stupid and the previous Russian president Dmitry Medvedev hates the Westerns a lot more than Putin does. Should he die and Dmitry Medvedev take his place we are ALL doomed (not only the Europeans).

The moment, if he ever launches a nuclear attack on any NATO country, it will be curtains for the whole world. He maybe intelligent but he is psychopathic in his outlook. I am saddened at this senseless war & loss of life. Not only is it affecting Russia & the Ukraine but having a devastating impact on all countries. I hope that if he ever issues the order which l doubt he would do his generals will over ride the order & arrest him for crimes against humanity.

I totally agree. Scary stuff boys and girls. He certainly is a psychopath and it is all about what he wants. I hope his generals would do that also. But they may just take Hitler's way out.

Putin is most likely bluffing with the nuke card, he could order a nuke strike but it has to pass several stages, he does not directly have the codes to launch the missiles.

So he has to get several other people to think as he does then. That is actually reassuring. I didn't know that.

@celticeagle the same way Biden can't decide and do everything.. From what I know Putin decides but the chief of staff has the codes that still has to be relayed and verified to silo bases and submarines for launch. Yes he needs like minded people lol! somebody on the chain might not follow like what some of his troops in Ukraine are doing.

@celticeagle he would probably threaten the families of those chiefs too, anyway those generals could also turn the tables on Putin if opportunity permits, he's getting so insecure and has fired a lot of them. Russia is runed by Putin and he is surrounded by oligarchs, the military, and the spies, Putin came from the latter and he knows anytime a branch could power grab.

I don't think Putin will attack any other country now. It's not that Ukraine has lost its wealth and infrastructure, Russia also has a lot of its money in the war. Now Putin won't think of being involved in a war with another country.

Those are the cities that my husband and I thought h would target should he decide to hit the United States. There is not a lot we can do, because all politicians are also pushing to an escalation of the war. We could end up with WWIII.

I just posted about "Doomsday Preppers". It is a show on National Geographic. I think that is where we need to devote our thoughts at this point. Is preparing for something that might happen. Having some food stocked up at least. We just don't know what could happen.

@celticeagle We are ready with food stocked, our atomic shelter is ready so that we can stay inside if the austerities tell us to go there and close that door. We received a flyer with the instructions of what to store and what to do at the beginning of March.

No one can tell what will happen next. Early in 2019 did any one suspect that we would have a pandemic and everyone would be wearing masks and afraid to touch each other? When a simple sneeze or cough would get you a dirty look -- or worse?

@MALUSE l am simply making the point that life on this planet is unpredictable. Of course we can predict some things , but not all things. And certainly we were in a war with the virus - a war which is only partially won.

I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen, but so far it sounds like white noise.

I always hope that today's leaders realize how devastating a World War can be with nuclear power. Hopefully they will not act foolishly.

Foolishness doesn't enter in when it comes to psychopathic thinking.
