Have you donated to Wikipedia

Since the inception of the commercialised internet, internet for the masses, Wikipedia has been the undisputed leader as an online Encyclopedia. I leaned on this site for getting info on myriads of topics under the sun. At the beginning, the coherence of the information was taxing to my non - native English speaking brain, but with time I could understand them more clearly as the grasp on the English language improved in my side. In the recent years, I have seen this platform asking for funds online for it's sustenance a couple of times, and this time I agreed to donate. I got an email from Wikipedia soon, as a thankful note. I know this platform got a hit recently, allegedly spreading leftist propaganda etc. but I donated based on goodwill. Will you consider donating, maybe not now, maybe later?

I use Wiki a lot though I always verify their information if I'm doing some serious research. Will consider making a one-time donation. Do they accept Paypal?

Maybe yes, I am not sure. I think the mode of payments are country specific.

Well I am a stingy gal so no I have not donated to wikipedia as I feel like they make enough money as everybody uses them. I have otherwise donated to cancer research and Doctors without borders before.

@flapiz You have donated to a greater cause. You are not stingy at all in my eyes.

Yes, I donate to them once a year. Usually however much I make from myLot that month when Wiki sends me the email asking if I'm donating this year.

I am not a big fan of Wikipedia. It gives a good overview but you need to go to the links in the articles to get accurate information. There was a time when anybody could edit Wikipedia and some people rewrote history and other things to suit themselves. My writing sites did not allow us to use Wikipedia as a reference, not even as informed by Wiki. They were all like that. I am not sure why. It is worth donating to because of the information about the subject. I don't want to donate monthly and don't want my card online if I don't need to.

I think monthly donation not needed too. One time will suffice.

@akalinus I did it with Internet banking. I guess it can be done with PayPal too but not sure.

@Sojourn I will consider if it is PayPal. My account is a mess right now as my bank was sold again and they have to verify it all as if I had never been there.

I donate maybe once a year as I am always consulting Wikipedia about something. Some say they make millions anyway but I'm happy to give back a little when I use it such a lot.

@Sojourn I'm sorry. I don't understand your question. I am often consulting Wikipedia so I donate a small amount of money to them from time to time.

@Sojourn I don't know how they make their money. I've just read that the site is worth a lot of money. Maybe I should check my facts better.

I think I did give them a minimum donation once. I use it enough, I should give them something if they ask.
